I like that they have twist on tops. Easy to clean. The plastic seal ring comes out easy so I find it much better when cleaning so that mold doesn't collect under the rim. Would purchase again. Holds heat fairly.

These are my favorite travel mugs, but they are flawed.Pros: They are relatively good at retaining heat. When new, they work well.Cons: There is a learning curve to screwing the top on correctly. It always takes a little care, not much.The two seals (circular gasket, and particularly the rubber in the closing "switch") fail. Always. I've ordered a lot of these over the last few years, and with daily usage, the seals may last one to a few months.Don't put in the dishwasher, as this hastens the decay of the seals.Therefore, I consider these essential but sadly short-lived mugs. I feel bad throwing them away and reordering, but that is what I am doing.(The AI summary mentions "steel" -- no no no, the body and lid are hard cast plastic, and the gaskets are rubber.)

My coffee has a bit of a plastic flavor in these new cups. I'm hoping that will go away. So far, not great. The cups and covers are nice though.

Update to the cups—I’m changing my review to poor. These cups are not leak proof. 2 cups so far have leaked on us. I made sure the lid was screwed on correctly and tightly yet coffee still leaked from under the lid (and no, it was not dribble from the opening to sip from!). Drinker beware!!I’m disabled with weak hands & arms. For earth day I decided to give up my Dixie disposable cups once & for all, but a reusable cup needed to be similar in design, lightweight, slender and well made. I had tried an inexpensive one but the lids wouldn’t easily snap on and off. Cheap product from China. Next one was better but still struggled with lids, and it was also slightly too wide to hold.Well, this last one, the one I’m writing a review for, is fantastic! It’s well made. The lid screws on so I never have to worry it’ll pop off and get scalded by my coffee. It also provides a spigot closure. The cup is double insulated and doesn’t need a band to protect my hands. It’s light weight. It’s wide to hold but not uncomfortable. It’s dishwasher safe. It’s pretty.I highly recommend it!

Some reviews did not like making sure the gasket was in place. 2 of the 4 needed to be adjusted slightly on arrival. I just eased them down with a table knife. Once seated, I've not had any issue. I don't tend to put lids in my dishwasher so that may be part of it. It is easy to get the lid on straight and I've had no issue. It did take a spill before I made a practice of closing the opening, but I have been rewarded with No Spills!Having the same confetti body makes all the lids match. The different lids allows each person to find "mine".The only downside for me is also a plus: because they are double insulated, my choice of the larger 16 oz size prevents stacking them in my cupboard. This is a small price to pay for the economical bonus of these travel mugs!
