Writes like a dream
By far my favorite fountain pen. It writes so smoothly that it's actually borderline pleasurable. Iy make you want to use it.

Disappointed. Did Montblanc used to make good stuff?
"Resin" I think they mean plastic. Plastic barrel, plastic feed. Feels like holding a Sharpie. No heft at all. Sometimes just stops writing randomly sometimes the lines are as thick as a Sharpie, yes, while using the same pressure. Cheap paper/cardboard composite material box with paper for the spine. They couldn't even do leather or wood for $500?I like Montblanc's other stuff, I have a wallet business card holder, but the flower on both of them is crooked.I don't know if Montblanc used to make good stuff, but wow. $500 wasted in my opinion. Losing faith in the brand.Get a Waterman for half the price and 10 times the quality.

Did I really just buy this?
Yes, I did, as a gift. It was on their list. I was taken back, not realizing how it was possible to have a pen that was the cost of feeding a family of three for three weeks or longer! But he says it’s the BOMB so I’m thinking he likes it.

My pen leaked
The pen is beautiful and was delivered as expected. After inking it up, the point where the cap screwed to the barrel and where your index finger goes when writing leaked. Tried with several different inks and colors and each time ink leaked on to my index finger. I returned the pen for refund. Both ends of the transaction were satisfactory.

The MontBlanc Line of Personal Accessories
If you invest in such a MontBlanc product, then expect to use it often; similarly, if you take common sense care of it, it shall be an enjoyable instrument in your possession. It isn't cheap nor is it terribly expensive, but just right, try it out at least once. I am not saying: "why not try it," look what you get for your money?Use it for at least more than a few times, if it works out well, then it is a keeper! I am in favor of the Montblanc design, it seems that where practicality meets functionality, Montblanc adds quality and price to the formula. That is why people still buy it. It is sensible, simple, and fashionable. Nothing says about elegance, than black lacquer, precious metals, and a white star! It has its immitators, but it is still an original, I would not take anything away from its prestige nor could I find anything that cannot be explained away why this company has made a wonderful product that has problems for other users. I expect that MontBlanc's name is riding on every product they make; so there is a reputation that is worthy of trust.I found my MountBlanc LeGrand Meisterstuck Fountain Pen to be working excellently. For mine, I have no leaks! The mechanism is simple to use, if you play with it first with plain water, then there would be no confusion of when the barrel is tightly fasten or not in changing atmospheric pressure conditions which when left unattended and uncapped may cause a leak of ink. MontBlanc makes a fine writing pen; I have also the Meisterstuck RollerBall MontBlanc that I use consistently. The design of the pen is sound and solid; it fits comfortably on the hand; because I like the size of my pens larger and weighing a certain way, this pen fits my demands' qualifications perfectly. There aren't any loose parts nor is there any parts that needs to be replaced soon. I cannot say anything about the company's policy for service, because I have not need for them to be serviced, since I have purchased both the fountain and the rollerball pens.I just love the MontBlanc product lines, including the belts and the wallets, not to mention their colognes! If you are that enthusiastic about their products, then try visiting a pen store in your locality that carries the MontBlanc lines. Oh, there are MontBlanc Breifcase and Watches, I just hope that when I use these products that there is no needed services by the company. I simply don't trust sending my valuable products in the mail.In summary, for the price and the quality, like for me, where I don't like to service my pens, watches, leather goods, nor anything for that matter, it is all good for as long as it lasts. MontBlanc are built to last, if you received it in perfect condition to begin with the purchased ownership. If it wears out then buy another one, but it would be a long time before you will need to buy another one. As for me, the design are simply elegant, with the white the Star of David on a black finish, and the operation is easy to figure out even if you cannot make heads or tails of the owners' manual instructions. It is common sense to now how to take care of Pens, as with anything, that you would value and use consistently, with careful attention and upkeep, most things will last for a long time!T.D.MontBlanc Meisterstuck Legrand Fountain Pen Black (Fine) 146 / 13661A.
