A Guide for How to Practice
This is a useful (and playful) text that addresses how our inner monologues impact the way we approach our training. It's a solutions/action-oriented workbook. It doesn't take itself too seriously, but at the same time - the text normalizes some of the more complicated emotions dancers experience during our practice and the ways that these psychological blocks hold us back. It offers clear strategies to practice risk-taking, approach comparison with others, to try to engage in our class practice with joy. It's also a really great conversation starter to help students share how they are working with the instructor and with each other.

Imperative tool!
This workbook is such a necessary tool in navigating your own movement practice. I used this book in my university class with Gracie Whyte and it was a joy! Each and every day I was met with a gentle, playful, yet meditative prompts or guidance on my practice for the day. I find it’s integral to my practice to be able to put feelings, thoughts, biases, and tendencies into words to truly be able to understand what is happening inside of me, and this book was with me every step of the way. So grateful for this!

A thoughtful way to approach movement
This workbook is thoughtfully organized and extensive, focusing on both the mind and body of the dancer. I'd even go so far as to call it a practice in meditation as it emphasizes mindfulness and retraining your harmful habits and negative thoughts. I've already found it to be a helpful, comforting companion and most importantly, a reminder to find the joy in your creative practice – and your life.
