Pretty good dog leash for the price! This is my second retractable dog leash I have purchased on amazon. I received this product two days ago and so far I am liking the design. It comes with a detachable light and dog bag holder that isn’t hard to remove if you don’t want it attached. The button to retract the leash doesn’t feel weak or not secure. To place batteries inside all you need to do is twist the back of the light off put inside three aaa batteries, easy. The light itself Works and gets the job done. I read some reviews about how there is no way to turn on the light without twisting off the cap. The button to turn it on is on the back of the light and is easy to get to with your thumb when you’re holding the leash. The only things that I can say that were a con I would say would be the weight of it is kind of bulky but for me is not a problem. Also, removing the light and the dog bag holder does make it considerably lighter. The doggy bags that come with it are cheap and do rip easily when you’re tearing it out so be careful. Theres a picture attached with an iPhone 6s for comparison. Lastly I have a 25 pound corgi that I use this for if that helps for deciding what size dogs it works for. Overall I think for the price it is good.

This is not even sufficient for my 25 pound puppy. The clip barely fits over his small sized collar loop. It's seriously tiny. At the time of this review, it has had 20 days of use. The material of the leash is thin and flimsy, and the edges have already frayed in this short time period. The opening where the leash extracts is also entirely too small, which means the leash frequently clogs there as you try to extend and retrieve it. There are only two switches on this leash. On and off. There is no 3rd temporary lock like some of the better retractable leashes. The idea of having a flashlight and a bag holder is great, but on this leash, they are worthless to work as performed because they keep falling off. What a crappy, crappy leash that will be added to the landfill.

I am a fan of these leashes. My first two were purchased several years ago, but had some problems. I think I was one of the first to buy them. Anyway, the seller sent replacements and they were terrific! They get pretty heavy use with our two medium sized dogs. Eventually the thumb slide on the metal hooks on both leashes broke. Nothing lasts forever and I just replaced the hooks. Not a problem. They could use a heavier hook, but not a big deal to me. Then one of the thumb brakes broke. Well, as I said nothing lasts forever, and the leash is priced pretty low, so I just ordered a new one.Here is my problem. The hooks I can replace, but the new leash had a flat ribbon (the actual leash) that began to fray after only one week of service and I cannot fix it. The old ones have lasted over two years without any signs of wear. And, the fraying causes the ribbon to jam in the slot where it retracts! You lose control of your dog at the exact time you need it (or so it always seems). Apparently the seller has changed the ribbon to a lighter weight one that is not working as well as the old one. I have contacted the seller twice but have not received any response. This is conceptually the best leash I have ever used. The light and bag holder work great! But if the ribbon will not always retract properly, it is not useable. I should give it one star, but I still love the old leashes and hope the seller fixes this problem. My original review gave it five stars.Update: I have changed the review to five stars because after the above review, without even telling me, the company sent me two replacements. They are like the old ones with a better ribbon. So, I give the product five stars again, and the customer support five stars!!!!

The built in flashlight is excellent and removable! (requires AAA batteries that are not included) However it'd be nice if there was some sort of lock to keep it on, as it can just slide out the backside of the leash without a release. (we lost it in our bag for a few days because we weren't quite sure where it fell off)Button takes a bit of getting used to, hold half way to stop the leash, push it all the way in to set the lock, push it all the way in again to release the lock.Bag holder is convenient as well, but it'd be nice if it had a rubber slot to stop bags from unraveling when not needed.Durability isn't very good, I've been using mine for around 3 weeks with a 15lb puppy who doesn't pull hard and something inside the reel has already snapped off. It originally jammed and we couldn't unlock the reel so it was stuck extended about 3/4 of max length. After pushing on the button hard repeatedly, the jam resolved and the leash retracted with about 1/2 the strength as previous and there was a grinding noise inside the reel as it did it. We're still using the leash until I find a good replacement, but even a decent wind has enough force to prevent the leash from retracting right now. It also repeats this jam about 1 in every 5 times you use the button lock. The webbing on the leash is also fairly thin so I wouldn't trust it for a dog that pulls hard, although it has held up to bites from my goldendoodle so far.
