TruGlide Mesh Fiber Stylus with Microfiber Knit Tip for All Capacitive Touch Screen Tablets, iPad, and Smartphone (Black with Gold Clip)

I use my iPad and the Notability app for note taking and lecture recording and I take A LOT of notes (easily 4-5 full pages per 1-hour lecture and roughly 9-11 lectures a week). I have tried every type of stylus over the last 3+ years and have destroyed every stylus but the microfiber tipped ones. I have tried the rubber tips that tear within 3 weeks of intensive use, the wire circle tip on a little spring (this was a favorite until the wire broke flush with the stylus body making removal and replacement impossible), the plastic disc tip (one mounted on a rubber stem: broke, one mounted on a metal ball: continuously wearing the ball/disc and losing contact) this was my favorite on many levels but it became a maintenance/cost issue due to both, using conductive grease to nurse it along until the new tips showed up, and the accumulating cost of tips versus normal writing implements (pack of ball-points or refills for mechanical pencils). Not to say these microfiber tips won't wear out, but they take much MUCH longer to do so. I finally replaced my original TruGlide after 1.5yrs, it didn't show any overt wear and tear but it began to have intermittent contact issues (maybe accumulated dirt, dust and dead skin??). It is very lightweight and doesn't feel like much in your hand, as well as being a little on the short side for those with larger hands (a fellow student is an iPad note taker and bought the more deluxe version with a ball point pen on the other end and it was definitely better for larger hands). Overall, I couldn't be happier with the functionality, longevity and affordability of the TruGlide and I would recommend it for anyone writing a lot on a touch screen.

After extensive research and several purchases I came to the conclusion that for the money this stylus delivers the best performance for the iPad. My first purchases were the rubber tip styluses that were really popular when styluses were first introduced for the iPad. What I found was that when sketching or taking notes the tip would grip the glass and bend. I tried cutting the tips shorter to cut back on the bending but it still resulted in a choppy feeling. Next, I tried a stylus with a brush tip. I had more success with the brush style because it glided much more easily. The precision left a lot to be desired but I was able to deal with it for a while. I eventually lost the brush stylus and started my search for a stylus again. That's when I came across the TruGlide Stylus. The Microfiber tip does glide across the iPad screen and while the tip is a little bit larger than I would like it provides much more precision than the brush stylus. The tip seems to grip onto cloth, so if it goes into a pocket you might want to steal a cap from a cheap ball point pen to keep it safe. Be careful if you put the cap on the back of the pen, the little metal cap might come out (happened twice to me so far). I've purchased a total of 4 of these, the last June, 2014 in black/gold. A bit of background, the first one a bought, don't remember the date - probably early 2014, was blue and Lynktec's original Truglide Stylus i.e. it was a mesh tip but, there wasn't an inner rubber core. This Stylus worked great and still does with the exception that the mesh had started to fray, like a Brillo pad, with very fine "hairs" sticking out in all directions. This wasn't an issue in terms of screen scratching, the fibers are as soft as silk but, the fiber material is extremely conductive and was causing errant touch activation. I bought a new Stylus and to my surprise the design had changed to the current mesh/rubber ball core combination. It still functioned extremely well however there were some distinct differences: 1. If too much pressure is applied, the tip collapses and there is a distinct crackle noise. 2. The tip itself is much firmer and trends to make a squeaky noise when gliding across the screen. This is especially noticeable when typing/swiping on Google keyboard for example. 3. Unlike the original design, the mesh cover has worn out, exposing the rubber core on multiple areas of the stylus tip. This final point is my major objection. All three (3) of the new, design, styli i purchased developed "bald" spots on the tips within ~3 months or so. Fortunately, Lynktec has a 1 year warranty period plus they're just a great company in general to work with. It wasn't until after all three of the styli suffered defects that i decided to contact the company. I took photos of the styli and copies of my Amazon receipts and emailed them to lynktec. They replied right away and sent me three new styli without me having to go through the hassle of first returning the old, defective ones. Unfortunately, the same problem reoccurred in about the same time frame. Now, to be clear some of the earlier styli might have worn prematurely because back then because i was using them on my Google Nexus 7 (2012) which just had regular Gorilla Glass. However, i stopped using them on the Nexus 7 when i bought my Google Nexus 5 and now my Google Nexus 5x Lynktec was so good to me, replacing the three styli and not asking for the originals to be returned, i just didn't have the heart to ask them to replace the replacements. Although i know they would have. In sum, I'm writing this review with a two year old Truglide Stylus which has some "bald" spots and despite that it still works as well as it did the day i bought it. That's the quality that's built into these styli. They're compact, under 5" made of metal, the pocket clip is solid - none of them have fallen off in three years plus and they're very stylish. After reading this review you're probably wondering if I'm crazy - Yes. Yes i am, for this Stylus. I literally have accumulated over two dozen brands/styles of styli over the past few years ranging in price from $2 - $65.00 I've read recent reviews, people saying that this Stylus is too expensive . . . it only lasts 3-4 months . . . Well, price is relative. If you want a cheap piece of plastic - this isn't for you. If you want a cheapo mesh wannabe, there's plenty out there and I've tried em, heed this warning - the cheap mesh styli will wear off your phone's oliophobic coating prematurely and you'll wish you bought a soft, quality Stylus like this one. For me, $10 every 3-4 months is dirt cheap compared to what my Nexus 5x (32GB) cost. Plus, you really won't have to replace that frequently and remember - the first failure/defect is a free replacement. This is, hands down, the best Stylus I've ever used.

Great price! Works wonderfully! What more can you want? There are some great drawing and sketching apps available for iOS and Android but without the appropriate tools, the user is left finger painting on her touch device. While it may be fun to regress into childhood memories of throwing paint around, some of us have become quite comfortable using brushes and pens and I knew that if I wanted to get the most out of sketching on my iPad I needed a stylus. After weeks of research, it became clear that the TruGlide stylus was what was needed. Simple. Strong. Inexpensive. It glides over the touch screen like a brush but the tip is narrow enough for line drawing. Some prefer firmer nibs on their drawing tools while others like soft contact with their touch surface. This is right in the middle. Push hard like a pencil. It works. Drag it gently over the screen as if it's a watercolor brush. It works. Be more creative. It works. Some of us 'artistic types' aren't the best at remembering where we put things; car keys, coffee cups, pens and brushes are a few items in a long list of things I've misplaced over my time on this planet. What if you lose your TruGlide Stylus? You won't feel too bad about misplacing your TruGlide since it's price is easy on the wallet. So why not purchase it? This product was shipped promptly, it was packed well, everything went smoothly with the order (thanks again, Amazon :). This review is based om my experiences with a Nexus 7 and a Nexus 10. I also know that the touchscreen is capacitive, designed to be actuated by fingers, and these styli are all really just hacks around that fact. I'll cover first the things I think are specific to this particular stylus. On the plus side, this thing glides smoothly over the screen, better than the last cheap rubber one I tried. It looks well made. On the minus side, there's no cap, and I suspect that before too long that fiber ball will catch on something and unravel. The fiber ball also flexes when compressed; I'm not sure what if any effect this has. Now for things that may (or may not) be styli and Android tablets in general. I tried handwriting with it first. For me to be able to read my writing at all, I must make large, deliberate strokes. If I don't, enclosed letters tend to look like dots or blobs. And If I go too fast, nothing is legible; it's a random wavy line punctuated by the occasional skip, and the lag is frustrating. It was a disappointment, as I have seen colleagues using styli on their iPads, and the note-taking apps on Android I've tried have all left me wanting. Anyway, it's back to my Bluetooth keyboard for note-taking for now. So then I tried sketching. That went a little better, but it still lacks the precision to do much detail (say, for making or annotating technical drawings in the field). In particular, the large nub required to activate the touchpad makes knowing exactly where the tip is difficult, especially on the smaller-screen Nexus 7. I'll probably keep it, but for you Android users out there, I recommend borrowing someone else's stylus first and seeing if it works for you on your device. If I really need stylus capability, I think I'll have to get a tablet with a bespoke (e.g., Wacom RF) precision digitizer.

Ive used a number of different brands of styli over the last two years, and until the TruGlide I always liked the rubber tipped styli best. The problem is that I take a LOT of notes, and most brands would only last me 45 to 60 days before the tip starts to get loose or the rubber starts to melt onto my iPad. As a result, ive gotten into the habit of buying 2 or 3 styli at a time. The TruGlide has been different - after 90 days I'm still on the first of the 3 I bought, and it's showing no signs of wear. It still writes smoothly and doesn't leave any residue on my iPad glass. I highly recommend this product. Update 8/17: all the paint has peeled off the shaft of the stylus, but last night was the first time I started to notice wear on the tip. The peeling paintwas a small annoyance, but I've been more than willing to put up with it because it writes so well. By my count, that means this one lasted 4 months, and because it works so well I have used it more heavily than the old rubber tipped styli. The end of this stylus is finally in sight, but I'm guessing it will be 300% the life of a typical stylus before this one goes in the trash.

I've used both the Pro and Clip style of the Lynktec TruGlide and vastly prefer this version. I've found that in using a dozen or so styli over the past few months I much prefer the feel of these style microfiber tips. Rubber tips are fine for just taping but after a week or so of use the coating degrades and it becomes incredibly tacky to the point of being useless for any kind of scrolling or swiping. Microfiber tips provide next to no resistance against the screen, are plenty accurate, and last much longer than others I've used. The most telling difference between this and the Pro version is the durability of the microfiber tip itself. Being roughly 2/3rds the length and maybe 4/5ths the width of its more expensive cousin the tip of the Clip stylus is much less prone to bending or warping. I found that after 20 minutes or so of use the tip of the Pro would gradually bend back even when using minimal pressure against the screen. After two weeks of continually straightening the tip by either flipping it or manually pushing it back to a neutral position it began to come out of its seat and fray on the edges. It was still usable but eventually caught on my bag and tore right off. In contrast I've used the Clip daily for the past month and have had children use it on multiple occasions and the tip is exactly the same as the day I got it. The machined holes for the grip are not particularly noticeable but definitely help, especially if your hands are even slightly oily. The titular Clip itself is my one complaint with this stylus. Any lateral pressure, such as contact with your hand, will easily cause the clip to pop completely out. After having to constantly reseat the clip I just left it out but having this big hole in the side wasn't great either. I settled on securing the clip with a clear epoxy and it's been solid and barely noticeable since. Overall this is my favorite stylus I've used and at roughly $8 it's actually cheaper than replacement tips for the TruGlide Pro.

After trying some rubber-tip styli and being disappointed, I ordered this one. On the others, the rubber tips didn't always connect or have the precision I needed, e.g. for closing tabs on Google Chrome (which I can't do consistently with my finger either). This one connects every time, with precision, and with little effort. I haven't tried using it for sketching, but it works well on little check boxes and that sort of thing. You don't need to press down very hard to make contact. If you mash the thing down, the metal mesh will make a crunching sound, and I suppose that isn't good for the tip. Update May 6, 2015 - I've been using this stylus for some months now with a Nexus 7 2013. Over time, I think from inserting and removing the stylus from the elastic loop on the side of a third-party case, a few of the threads on the stylus are frayed. As far as I can tell, it doesn't affect the functionality of the pen. I said above that the stylus has 100% accuracy (e.g. for checking boxes, etc), but I'd say it's more like 90%. In fairness, this may be in part due to the tablet; no touch screen is perfect. I'm not removing any stars at this point because it's still the best stylus I've had, and it works quite well.

I had earlier bought Wacom Gen 3 Bamboo stylus which has a fiber tip too but it required applying too much pressure to get detected by the screen which made using the stylus very uncomfortable, so I never used it again and bought a rubber tip stylus which cost ₹79/- which works perfectly except for the minor resistance when swiping on the screen, I wanted a much smoother experience and after reading all the positive reviews bought the TruGlide Stylus, so here is what I think: - Compared to Wacom stylus TruGlide is lot better, it does require slight pressure to get detected but it feels more natural and easier to get used to - Comparing TruGlide with the rubber tip stylus which I bought for ₹79 was a disappointment because taps and swipes of rubber tip stylus gets easily detected and requires only the slightest of pressure whereas TruGlide feels better at swiping across the screen due to the fiber tip and smooth gliding on the screen but it's not at all good for tapping on links, it requires too much pressure, feels uncomfortable and is an inconsistent experience. - I am using the stylus on iPad Mini 2, I tried it on iOS Notes app to write and found the experience to be disappointing, I didn't try it on any other note taking apps so may be the experience would be better in other apps. - The TruGlide stylus looks stylish and feels premium, weight is not evenly distributed, it's quite heavier at the base but feels comfortable to use. I required the stylus only to get around the interface which means tapping and swiping and this stylus is only good for the later, so I can't recommend these expensive fiber tipped styluses unless their prices come way down, till then it's better to go with rubber tip stylus or buy a good Bluetooth stylus. Very happy with this stylus on both my phone & my tablet. I haven't had a tip like this before, but it's the only type I want from now on!

Each of these stylus could cost you twenty bucks for a single stylus so getting 3 for that price it's an amazing offer. The stylus themselves have a capacitive fibre mesh top for extra touch response.

Very very good!!! I wanted a decent pen for navigation on my ipad and this is just the job. The other ones I've had lasted me 1 week at the most, this one is still going strong after a few weeks, impressed!
