TP-Link TL-SX105, 5 Port 10G/Multi-Gig Unmanaged Ethernet Switch

Works great out of the box. Easy to install and connects my pc to my nas perfectly.

Only one on the market that's fanless and not noisy, very good switch wish was 8 port. Downsides: Run's extremely hot and the charging cable can be loose. Don't know if it's viable for 24/7 use.

I have had this 5-port 10G switch for almost 8 months. It has performed perfectly and held up pretty well with 24/7 use even though it runs warm.

It's easy to set up: just open the box and connect to the router. No configuration needed!

This is a 10G multi gig switch. Works well, plug and play. There weren’t too many brand name choices in the size for number of ports. It is great for small office setup.

$269.99 and two years later... 2 of the 5 ports are completely dead. 1 other port is loose and doesn't keep a connection. So what I paid that amount for was a 2-port 10G unmanaged switch. Naturally there is no way other than taking the unit apart and wiring in new ports to get things working again... MAYBE. Don't get me wrong, I love TP-Link, and that's why I chose at the time to pay for that brand rather than some unknown, much cheaper brand, or overpaying for a luxury brand switch, pretty much all of which are all built more than likely by the same manufacturer and branded by each company, with their own cosmetic changes. All I know is this unit is NOT reliable. It should have been cooled with 1-2 fans, as others have said; it overheats. That overheating can take out ports, but this unit has been sitting in an air-conditioned network room the entire time I have had it. Unfortunately, with products like this, it is ridiculous to think that a warranty would be honored or covered for years, though it should be. I hope this is not a sign of TP-Link, which I have a lot of their products, going downhill in terms of quality and connectivity. Now I have to look for another 10G to 25G unmanaged switch, hopefully with removable ports, at a fairly reasonable price, but in today's market, that's unlikely. I have routers, extenders (bunch), other network devices, and more from TP-Link, and overall, I am happy with the brand. However, for now, I would not recommend this unit (though it seems discontinued now), or even the one that replaced it until we see someone fully test it over time. By the way, one port died 3 months after I got the unit. It wasn't like all this happened at once; over the past two years, the unit has been slowly dying, and my company's networking budget is low at this time, though we need more speed, reliability (MOST), and capacity/latency more than ever right now, too. SIGH! I have recommended TP-Link to thousands of people over the years; for now, I will stop. I will have to order their newer products if I want to take a chance, and test them fully before implementing them on our network as it's critical now for it to stay up and reliable for us.

Fanless? Awesome. The issue is that under heavy sustained load, it overheats and stops passing traffic. Requires a power-off cool down period of 30 minutes to start working again. It sits in a room that is never over 72 degrees F. I have it sitting on a metal vented rack shelf, and still had to get a fan to point directly at it so it won't overheat. It's a good price, but at the cost of reliability if you have heavy traffic on your network.

Note: I don't give 5 star reviews unless a product goes way above and beyond my expectations. A product that meets my expectations should get a 3 star. Blanket 5 star reviews leave not room for comparison of a product that is exceptional. I know a bit about networking, but I'm far from an expert. With the help of A.I. though I was able to figure out a lot of what I was doing and what I needed. I have very fast fiber internet, but I also run 2 high end computers an XBOX and a NAS box all in the same room as the ONT/Modem. As a result most routers don't meet my needs, and even the ones that have enough ports tend to have only 2 10G ports, as both my computers have 10G network adapters, and my internet is capable of clearing 6gb symetrical I always had to choose what to throttle. This helped me more or less get away from that. I actually hadn't known that it would increase the transfer speeds of my NAS box, or files between the computers as they would transfer via the switch rather than having to go all the way to the router and around. Overall it seems to be of good quality, it's simple to use and it does exactly what it's supposed to do. I've had no connectivity issues and as long as you use the right connectors it's compatable with anything that uses the same network cables. The only thing I would say for those even less familiar with Networking than I am is keep in mind that it has 5 ports, but one of them needs to be running to the router, so can only connect to 4 devices in addition to the router. Overall while it's a little pricey if you're like me and you want the fastest speeds, I think it's worth the cost.

Product itself is simple, sturdy, and does what it says. Unlike some other switches I have seen it has clear indicators (lights) showing link activity and all speeds. The case is sturdy and fanless; latter is unusual for a 10Gbps switch. BUT: no rubber feet (easy to fix, but odd for a “desktop” switch); no grounding point.

Fantastic switch, getting a full 10 gig on all ports. Arrived within time. Gets warm to the touch after a few minutes, but put a old hard drive on it which acts as a heat sink. So running cool now. But, mains power adaptor is a US plug. So had to buy a UK converter to get it to work.

A Plug and play 10x upgrade. Solidly built. Great for my home lab.

This was supplied with a US plug but I’m in the UK so had to purchase a separate transformer. The product is excellent and easy to set up apart from this.
