I have thought of purchasing a Soda Stream or equivalent for years, but kept putting it off. With the cost of sodas skyrocketing, I finally got one. Amazon had a sale during Prime Days, which made this bundle quite affordable. You get the streaming device, 2 bottles of CO2, 2 extra bottles to use, giving you 3 total. And you get 2 bottles of the Bubly flavorings. I also ordered a variety pack of soda syrups made by Soda Stream. The package arrive the next unmolested. I opened the package and while I was pulling the box out that contained the soda stream system, the box slipped and sliced my finger. So be careful unpackaging things so you don't get cut like I did. Fortunately, the cut was minor and I continued on.Once everything was upacked, I quickly read the instructions and inserted a CO2 cannister in the pump. I filled the included 1Liter bottle with COLD water, as recommended, and put it in the fill position in the CO2 dispenser. PLease do not overfill the bottle. There is a line and do not fill above that line before you charge the bottle with CO2. Once the bottle was in place to be carbonated, I pressed the button to discharge CO2 into the water. You need to press the button at least 3 times (up to 5 times for more carbonation) and I didn't wait long enough or wait at all between charges and water spurted out of the bottle, and spilling all over the counter. Lesson learned. WAIT between CHARGES for the water to calm down. I've not had a problem of spillage since. That was fun.Once the bottle had been charged, I added some soda syrup to the bottle. Again, disaster. With the water being COLD and CARBONATED, it was like dumping ice cream into cold rootbeer and the bottle bubbled over. So the trick is to pour the syrup in slowly or in stages so as not to cause Vesuvius to erupt. Also, please pour the syrup in while holding the bottle over her sink, just in case it does overflow. BTW, the syrup was called Dr Pete, which is supposed to be like Dr Pepper. It's close, but not exactly the same.Once the syrup is in the bottle, you need to put the cap on and GENTLY shake the bottle for the syrup to dissolve properly in the bottle. Also, DO NOT PUT THE SYRUP IN BEFORE CARBONATING THE WATER or you will have a mess. The syrup dissovles quickly so I then poured the soda into my ice filled glass. Remember to open the bottle slowly if you just shook the bottle or you will make a mess. With the glass full, I tried the soda and yes, I had a carbonated beverage that I made at home. SUCCESS.The carbonation wasn't as strong as you'd get in sodas from the store, but it was good enough. Since I had 3 bottles, I made another soda, this time with the cola flavor. I did 4 CO2 injections this time instead of 3. The carbonation was better. The taste was that of a generic cola, not COKE or PEPSI and definitely not RC. I also have the root beer syrup and tried that and it tastes like rootbeer, imagine. The last flavor I tried was the citrus Bubly extract. I think I used 5 CO2 injections instead of 3 to make it extra bubbly. It tastes like soda water with citrus oil in it and no sweetner. You are not limited to using only the products offered by Soda Stream, you can use your own syrups and flavorings too.Once I emptied a bottle, I rinsed it out and filled it with water and carbonated it. Then I put the bottle in the fridge to keep chill. Sometimes I would put the syrup in before putting the bottle in the refridgerator; other times, I would just carbonate the water and put the bottle in the fridge. That way, I can decide later which flavor I want.If you don't plan to use the device much, you're better off buying soda water in bottles from the store. The initial cost is steep. I think I payed over $100 to start, which is the equilvalent in price to 25 2 liter bottles. Also, the CO2 cannisters are not cheap, but refilling them can cost from $2-$17 per cannister. I've not had to refill a cannister yet, but while on the Soda Stream website, I learned that you can do a bottle exchange at the larger stores like WalMart, Target and Best Buy. Or, you can request bottles from Soda Stream and send in the empties. One could go to a local business to get the bottles refilled. My recommendation is that one go through Soda Stream (and authorized dealers) and do it right. I did a bit of research and found that one can refill the cannister just by filling it with dry ice, which is frozen CO2.Overall, the Soda Stream delivers and is easy to use. Just be sure to be patient in carbonating the water and in pouring in the syrup. Also, since you're only using water with the Soda Stream, clean up is non existent, just wipe it down when it gets wet.

Amazing product for a sparkling water liver!
I WISH I GOT THIS EARLIER! As someone who loves sparkling water, this has been an absolute game changer! So easy to use, and super fun as well! I love that you get 3 bottles in this bundle, as we can always have cold water ready to carbonate! If your trying to quit soda, this is they way to go! You just need to get whatever flavor you want, and basically get a new drink at a super cheap price! Also, the CO2 cartridges last so much longer than I expected, I've been making drinks for about a month now Andy first one is still not out! If your wanting good flavors, I'd definitely recommend any water additives you can get cheap at the store. Tons of low to no sugar options, and way cheaper then buying Lacroix!

Creates carbonated water in a device thats half as wide as a coffee machine.
It's exacly as advertised. Super easy to setup. I was worried about some of the complaints on here, but it worked great. Had it setup in less than 5 minutes. If it doesnt work for you, it's either a dud or you didn't do it right.Take the wrapper and lid off the top of the co2, remove the back of the unit, lift the lever and set the co2 in, lower the lever (should lift the co2) and put the back on again. Add water to the wavy water line on the lidless bottle and push it up into the front part while swinging the bottom back ( bottom should be suspended! ) and its ready to carbonate. Hit the button 5-8 times ( they say 3-5 ). Take off, add juice to the filll line or 1/4tsp of bubly (strong flavor stuff).3-5 pumps that it suggests was barely carbonated at 5, still experimenting but think 10 is too much. The bubly flavoring, didn't much like the blackberry, got a bit of chemical flavor. I'll have to experiment more to see if it's just me getting the ratios wrong or maybe having proplyn glycol as the first ingredient does it. The lime tastes like lime candies to me. These were just bonuses to me so if i end up not likeing them then it won't bother me.Straight lemon juice was good! I dont think you need more than a couple tablespoons, sort of a to taste thing I think.Oh lastly the manual has a long winded thing saying they own the co2 bottles and a patent and something about only they can refill them. Reminds me of the EOLA agreement you get when installing software except on a piece of paper and no accept button.Edit: Got the bib thing for my die dr pepper syrup! Seems 10 pumps of co2 gives it just enough. It's so weird how 6 pumps seem almost too sharp with water/juice, but 10 is ok with syrup and even at 12 it doesnt foam up a lot when pouring. Probably wont get the mileage out of the tanks as it advertises due to liking 10-12. Really, it's all a matter of taste, 5 may be perfect for some.Warning btw, it starts freezing the water and i dunno what making it so cold does to it so i go to 5 then slowly do the rest letting it not hiss so much before doing another pump.

Don't debate, buy now! Delicious drinks await!
I absolutely love sodastream. I debated for 6 months if not years on whether I should get one. I would weigh the cost benefits, the convenience, etc. Once you have it though, all of that is just icing on the cake, because having the power to add bubbles anytime you want is priceless. While I can get my standard pepsi zero bottles and have my soda incredibly cheap compared to pre bottled, I can now get (or make) any flavor syrup I want and craft my own drinks. There are so many types of flavor syrups on Amazon that the possibilities are endless!Whether you get this model or one of the others, I cannot see how anyone would regret it.I was able to setup and make my first soda without reading any instructions it is that simple. For those who use it a lot, look into the subscription co2 service from sodastream, and definitely do the subscribe and save orders for your favorite flavors on Amazon!

Good for the price and space saving
great little machine. Works well, Only issue I have that many people have already said. Is that the bottles do not hold the fizz for very long. But it is easy to use. Since the bottles don't hold the fizz. It was kinda pointless getting three bottles. Unless you have kids etc. But for a single person there is no need for three bottles.

Consume less plastic, buy a soda stream🌍
I am genuinely impressed and can hardly believe I managed without this product for so long. As a frequent consumer of sparkling water who is also conscious of environmental impact, this has become an invaluable tool. I am by no means a perfectly polished environmental activist, but I do consider the amount of waste we generate through our consumption of plastic and aluminum. This led me to consider alternative options.I was highly anticipating trying this product, and I am pleased with my decision. It included two tanks, the main unit, and some flavor samples for practice. I found the operation very straightforward. It consistently produces bubbles with either a perfectly light or heavier texture. An additional advantage is the capacity to regulate the carbonation level to accommodate individuals who experience discomfort with gas in liquids. The instructions do not advise incorporating fruit into the water, but I included ginger and lime juice, and the result was comparable to opening a can of sparkling water.Buy it!

Bubbly water forever!
I have to tell you, I love this thing. I drink so much sparkling water abroad, but it's so expensive at home, so I tried this. I got it on a Prime Day deal and ordered some extra flavors with it, but just being able to have a nearly endless supply of sparkly water makes it worth it. You can choose how bubbly you want it depending on the number of pumps (I always want maximum bubbles). One of the best parts is that it DOESN'T REQUIRE A POWER SOURCE, just the CO2 tank. It works best with already cold water, so I usually just rotate out three bottles for when I need them. I can drink a whole liter of water in one sitting now by just bubbling it up.

Broken product with lousy support!
I am very GENEROUSLY providing a one star--more than is their due!I received the unit, assembled everything, registered the product with SodaStream, filled the bottles with water to the "fill" line, chilled the bottles of water had the CO2 cartridge in place, inserted the chilled water in the SodaStream Bottle, pushed the button and...Water bubbled everywhere out the top of the bottle and made a mess to clean up.Since I had 3 bottles, I repeated the process (this time with the assembly in the sink) in the thought that perhaps there was a problem with the originally used bottle.Same result but easier to clean up as I'd put it in the sink.I have a doctorate degree, educated in both physics and chemistry above the 4 year degree, understand fluid and gas chemistry, Boyles law etc. I write this to simply provide perspective on myself as an "end-user".I contacted SodaStream. Since the purchase was from Amazon, SodaStream wouldn't talk to me, I had to take it up with Amazon.I called Amazon who did all that they could do, providing me with 3 choices; 1. contact Sodastream which I could now do since I had reached out to Amazon first--was told by Amazon that SodaStream would probably replace the unit.Got on a phone and video chat with a SodaStream tech, camera on my Android didn't have permissions correct so after the first 2 video calls the Sodastream rep agreed to just do the call without the visuals, that there may be a missing or broken seal for the bottle. What I know of chemistry is that for the CO2 to be absorbed into the water, there needs to be some pressure to help the reaction along which wasn't happening because I could hear the CO2 escape and watch the water bubble out the neck of the bottle when the button was pushed.I have a defective unit, simply put.I've pretty much wasted a CO2 cannister doing repeated tests of what I know won't work.I asked for a replacement machine (cheap plastic) and replacement CO2 bottle. It's been a week since I received the "carbonator" that won't work. Now, it needs to go through an escalation within the SodaStream company to decide if I am worthy of a functioning unit. OR, I can accept $40 US after spending $160 (four times the amount) and go away owning unusable flavorings and an extra CO2 bottle and the partial bottle that I still have.Look,, I've seen national security issues treated with less concern than Soda Stream is treating me over their DEFECTIVE PRODUCT. I don't think these units cost that much to produce, why are they not apologiziing and sending a replacement unit?I am VERY impressed with SodaStream(but not FAVORABLY impressed!)
