I am really happy w this product. It lets my old lab swim around happily and confidently with his head out of the water chasing balls and having the time of his life. He has always hated mobility aids for walking but was immediately comfortable in this life vest in both the pool and lake. Doesn’t mind having it on between swims. Really solid product especially for how inexpensive.

A good quality vest. It is nice that it has both velcro and straps to secure the belly. I had wanted the pink, but it took too long to get to me. Orange is visible and works with my Blue Heeler's coat. This vest has two handles and the handles proved to be useful on the boat trip I took the dogs on recently. My Heeler had to be with us in the water while we sat on life vests and talked. She managed to get off the boat and join us without making a sound. It was very comforting to know the dogs will be fine when they end up in the water.

I originally got a large for my old and arthritic 50# shepherd/heeler mix in 2015. I started to get worried that she would jump or fall off the float tube or follow me when I was paddling around the lake and wouldn't be able to make it back to shore, so I bought her one of these. It gave me some peace of mind and I started taking her with me more instead of leaving her at camp. I tried it on my new shepherd mix when I first adopted him in October 2018 and it just fit (he was about 70#). After a winter of fetch and long walks he had put on about 10# of muscle and the large didn't fit (it's been a while but I think his girth was 32"). According to the size chart the large should fit dogs up to 85# with a 32" girth, but there was no way those buckles were snapping together. I ordered an XL for him and it fits great. He loves to go kayaking with me and I feel much more secure knowing he has it on. I still have the large size and it's still in great shape. I plan on using it for my 60# lab mix when it gets warm enough. I'll update this review if I discover an issue when we start going on the water again. I really like these life jackets and have not directly experienced any issues with quality or performance but am only giving 4 stars because: 1) I don't think there's any chance that the front flap will hold the dogs head out of the water if needed. It might work for small dogs, but for large dogs it just doesn't look reasonably possible. This is unfortunate as it's one of the advertised qualities that initially attracted me to this product. 2) I don't think the grab handles would hold up very well with use as they are just sewn to the top of the jacket and are not part of the straps that go under the dogs chest. Some reviewers have noted this issue, but I think the packaging says they should only be used in an emergency. So maybe not the best option if you have a larger dog that you'll need to lift into boat or onto dock repeatedly. Again, probably fine for small dogs as the product quality seems decent. I just think it could've been designed better. 3) Sizing issue as noted above. Update 02/13/22: Both jackets still holding up well. The one I bought in 2015 looks as good as the one I got in 2019. Still only use for fetching in water and kayaking. I do not use the handles to lift the dogs, they mostly just wear them while running about. I'm back today to order one for my 4-legged niece who loves to swim and run about, but gets stiff and sore very quickly. Also adding pictures, hope someone finds them helpful. Black and white dog is 60-65#, girth 30". Black and tan dog is about 80#, girth 32". Second picture is to show difference is size. Top life jacket is large (old style) and lower is extra large. Pink is medium I received by mistake.

Up front, I'm not an expert on using pfds for our dogs. Previous dogs were no fan of the water let alone being on our boat so we rarely took them out. Now with an English lab puppy, I have to actually go into the water to get them out because they love it so much. We decided to get him a PFD for obvious reasons and the fact that we do a lot of boating and things can happen. Your biggest struggle is going to be getting it fitted correctly. If you have a higher energy dog, this would definitely be a two person job. There is a very fine line between the PFD working correctly and not being too tight as to put your dog in discomfort and maybe have them lose interest in being on the water. I wish I could compare this to others but we have no complaints so far. The handle is perfectly placed, at least for our dog, to be able to pick him up in a balanced way and not have him tip forward or backwards. And the under muzzle flap helps keep his snout above water although he rarely seems to need that unless he is swimming for a few minutes straight. Lastly, we have washed the PFT a few times with the strong hose pressure and for now dirt seems to come right off. Lastly, we've had this since he was 10 weeks old and he's now four months old, 25 lb heavier and there is still plenty of adjustability left. He's currently at 37 lb if that helps.

Was on the fence between a Kurgo and more upscale option, but figured at this price I’d give the budget lifejacket a shot. size large is Perfect fit for my 60 lbs ACD mix. She’s embarrassed to wear it but it is snug g enough in all the right places without being tight or restraining. Seems well enough made, looks good, and adjustable

I usually don’t write reviews but I had to for this ! I am so pleased with this purchase. I have an American pittbull 75lbs rescue with a broad chest and this vest was perfect for his first lake vacation. Other vest we had made him tip forward in the water but this vest did not do that- it was also sooooo easy to put on . The under part is stretchy so wrapping around his chest can form to his chest area, Velcro part worked good keeping it in place and then clips for additional safety to keep it on . I almost spent a lot of money on a different vest but decided to try this vest first and so glad I did ! He would come over and nudge me to put this vest on him with his pitty boop cuz he loved swimming with it! Would recommend 100%!

This life jacket was a wonderful thing for my 3 month old dachshund. It gave her the confidence to learn to swim in our pool. Easy to fit on her each time. Love the handle on top, I used it to lead her around the pool with leash attached. She learnt very quickly where to find the steps for a safe exit. Now she swims without it, but wouldn’t have made such progress without this life jacket. Lovely to relax with her in my float!

True to the reviews, I bought this for our small corgi puppy (about half the size of a typical adult corgi) and she might outgrow it as she reaches her adult size since it's a bit smaller than the measurements given. However it does a great job at keeping her afloat in the water and she now loves swimming! So glad we bought this and we will definitely buy a larger one when she outgrows it! Highly recommend!

Ordered a size large for my Husky x Malamute, who weighs about 33kg. Fairly good quality but I did notice one of the straps was hard to tighten up as it kept coming loose when adjusting it. The front velcro flap could have been longer, but the underside velcro flap was perfect and offered lots of adjustability. Size was spot on, could have been a little longer in the back but provided extra buoyancy when she was swimming. The colour is also bright making her easier to spot in the water. She had no issues running around or swimming in it, and didn't show any discomfort whilst wearing it. Overall very happy with how quickly it was delivered and found it reasonable value for money.

My Boston terrier has never been a great swimmer...but he loves to play fetch in the water. He is getting older, and doesn't swim for long now... he tires out after half a dozen tosses. I bought him this life jacket and now he will play forever. He just loves it. He confidently paddles after the farthest tosses. It warms my heart. He just needed a little help and he's back to enjoying playtime like a puppy again. Very nice quality, great value for the money. Love the handle. Fit him very well, he's a medium, about 20 lbs.
