Can I use this for hot foods as well?

I used them for cold foods but ran them through the dishwasher and they didn't melt. And I just put one in the microwave with hot water in it and it was fine up until the water started boiling at which point the plastic did start to melt. So I would say as long as the food wasn't TOO hot, you'd be good to go.

Are these water proof? and are they bpa free?

I was vey pleased with these. Yes they are waterproof (plastic) but I don't know if they are bpa free.
