Best price for polyquat 60 I have found
All polyquat 60 is made by the same manufacturer, just bottled by different companies. So shop for the best price - and this Kem-tek is the best price I've found. It works and is cost-effective. No, there is no clear strip down the side of the bottle for "measuring" - I use a plastic measuring cup and would never downgrade this product for that reason. If the bottle has 32 ounces in it and you use 2 cups ... Just do some basic math in return for saving a major amount of money on this brand. Polyquat 60 is the only algaecide that works or is worth spending money on. I live by saltwater and have a pond on my property as well and algae blowing in and being dropped by seabirds was a continual problem that this product has finally enabled me to get a handle on.Some people have said it did not work for them. I'm not criticizing anyone, but I have found that it is important to follow exactly the instructions for using this product. If you have a large algae bloom in your pool, you must shock the bejeebers out of it before you use any algaecide. This product's directions say as much (OK, it doesn't say "bejeebers.") I had a big algae problem two seasons ago and employed the "Bejeebers Shocking Treatment," vacuumed out the dead algae (looks like grayish silt on the bottom), then used this product according to the label instructions, then vacuumed again (the label says to do this). Then I used this product in the "maintenance" dose the rest of the season. I have always had an algae problem toward the end of the season (mustard algae, yuck) but after I started using this product according to the instructions, I have now had two seasons with no algae bloom at the end of the summer. When the algae starts to rear its ugly head in late August, it's because I tend to slack off on shocking and algaecide as the summer wears on, so mea culpa. However, I have avoided algae blooms since using this product. This past Spring, this product again came to the rescue because my winter cover developed several holes (birds and ducks pecking at it) and when I took the cover off to open the pool, it literally looked like split pea soup, complete with pea clumps. I shocked and shocked and shocked and filtered filtered filtered and kept cleaning the filter daily, and when I could shock no more, I used a bottle of this Kem-Tek 60% and kept cleaning the filter daily. It took about a week and half to go from, seriously, split pea soup to clear and swimmable, and about two weeks to become sparkling clean. This algaecide is not magic. It takes work to clear up a lot of algae, but this product will definitely do its part.

Works like it should
Very good algecide, keeps water clear and free of any algae. I use 4oz every 2 weeks and no issues all year long. Used for 7 years now. Highly recommended product.

Good enough
Did it work? YesI went on vacation and when I came home the pool was green. I ordered 2 bottles of this because it was a reasonable price and the reviews said it worked. I used an entire bottle and waited overnight. The pool was still green but not at bright. I added sink and sweep waited another day and and it was still green but settled on the bottom. After vacuuming it looked better but was not clean. I vacuumed every day for a 3-4 days and then it was sparkling again.I have been using the second bottle for a few weeks as a preventative measure and I am no longer having problems with algae growth. It would be nice if it worked faster but overall if you are not in a hurry to have your pool clean or just need something to prevent algae, this works well.

Worked for a small amount of algae with my filters
I have a bestway pool that is 12x30 inches that I use an Intex filter and an Intex saltwater filter. I was having trouble with my saltwater filter and my salt level so I didn't run it for a day or 2 while trying to get my levels correct.. BIG MISTAKE! I had some nasty film of algae covering the walls, and although my pool is small enough to drain I didn't want to give up my perfect temp of 90 degree pool water.I ordered this and put in one dose for my water amount and then ran my pool filter and saltwater filter for 12 hours. (I could have done less but that was the maximum and I wanted to kick some algae butt) Before putting this in I took a brush and moved the algae off the walls of the pool so it was floating. It looked like I really didn't have any algae at that point but the water had a green tint to it. The 12 hours of my filters and this algaecide worked so well. The water was clear and the bottom was almost spotless. The water did smell a little stronger like bleach than it does with just my salt filter so I was nervous for us to swim. I tested and we were in safe range and it didn't bleach our suits or notice any eye burning or anything. This was the day after the treatment. I'm so happy I have this in my pool chem arsenal.Note: I added the pictures I took of the algae so you could see what I was working with.

Over priced for no better than it works.
I've had an inground pool over 20 yrs and used this over price stuff for a lot of them. I finally discovered a product named PoolRx and haven't looked back.

Great product, better price!
I've been using poly-quat algaecide for years, but it is expensive from the local Leslie's or other pool stores. Poly-quat is non-foaming, not copper based so it won't stain your pool plaster and is highly effective at killing all types of algae. However remember that algaecide is part of a one-two punch. The other part is shock, either liquid or standard granules. So if you have a lot of algae on the walls and floor of your pool, very carefully and completely brush all the algae off the walls, floor and steps, dose with the poly-quat according to the bottle which is based on the amount of water in your pool and finally shock. Keep the filter running and no more algae! The other thing I do is to use this weekly even if I don't have an active algae outbreak as it ensures that algae won't grow. All around a great product. As I mentioned, the algaecide is expensive, but is much cheaper here on Amazon than at the pool store, is highly concentrated, 60% vs some at 20% and works like a champ!
