Question 1

does it expires? how long is it good for when its sealed? ok so i use it to cast a leg on the farm.  we rarely have broken legs

I have used this on several occasions. It does have an expiration date on it, about 3 years from my purchase date, I have not tried using any past its date. I store this in a cool place. I have used this material several times and buy it in bulk. The biggest issue I have had with this product is that ambient temperature noticeably affects the working time. I set up everything first and work FAST. Perfect alignment is critical. Be sure to use ample padding! Cotton sleeve next to skin plus thick cottony padding. DO NOT open the casting material until all of this done and alignment is correct. Also, it may be helpful to use a 3" or 2" roll depending on which appendage or animal you are treating. Lastly, this is fiberglass and does not dissolve in water. Removing the cast need also be considered, it should be done with a vacuum system... a shop vac can be used. Hope this is helpful.

Could you use part of the roll and save the rest for later in a platic baggy if you don't get it wet?

Probably, would have to be pretty air tight I think.  I used it to cast my horses hoof and always used the whole roll, so I'm not sure.

Can this be cut length wise before wetting to make thinner strips?

no, it comes packaged and is damp.  It hardens very quickly.

Can this product be used for other things?

Sure it can, why wouldn't it be able to? Did your have something in mind a bit more specific? Your question is so broad which makes it an easy yes. Your imagination is the limit on this one just make sure food is not going to be eaten from anything you might put it on I doubt it would hurt anyone but, ya never know! I have used this to build volcanoes with the kids, we have made masks, we have used it to repair a broken rake, i used it to repair a neighbor's pipe that burst and it held remarkably well until a plumber could get there. I'm sure one could find million of uses for this stuff. It's sold in major home improvement stores as well as online as a product called "Fiberfix" it's scary expensive though, your way better off purchasing the Scotchcast here!
