Useful for showering those who need to be seated
Great for my mom. She broke her Tibia and cannot put weight on her foot for 6 weeks. Used the bench for the first time. It’s somewhat durable and the slide seat is great. We use it for the walk in shower although it’s suppose to be great for bathtub as well. Easy to assemble.Has a removable seat section to wash all sorts of nooks and cranny’s!!

Nice Transfer Bench
My Mom had an old transfer bench from when she broke her hip 7 yrs ago. She's become less mobile & more frail since her broken hip. She recently broke her arm & can't bare any weight on it now. Now she's not able to scoot her bottom over on the old bench to get into the tub. This created a dilemma for giving her a decent bath.I was thinking out loud the other day that wouldn't it be nice if someone made one of these things that slid from one side to the other. I started searching the internet & viola! I found this sliding transfer bench & it works great.I was a bit worried it might not slide too well with a 140 lb person on it. I was wrong. It slides very easily. The seat is wide & deep enough to accomodate even very large persons. The bench is very stable & once Mom sits down we help her raise her legs one at a time into the tub & then it slides right over. There is a plastic latch that hooks once it is in position to keep it from sliding anymore. There is also a velcro strap on the seat that acts like a seat belt to provide reassurance to those afraid of falling off. This thing is so easy to put together a 7 year old could do it. No tools are required. Each leg adjusts independently to fit your floor or tub height. The rubber suction cup feet stick to the bottom of the tub well or even to a wet floor. You can adjust the front leg that is inside the tub, down a notch to account for the slope on the tub to make it more stable.Be aware that bathtubs vary in width. This chair should work well with most any tub but due to the leg design (it flares out a little for stability) the wide seat just barely goes over the inside wall of a standard 30" wide tub. If you attach a hose to your shower head you can pretty much keep most of the water inside the tub.I was very impressed by the price & quick service I got here from Amazon. This has enabled my Mom to get a nice bath now.

Its well made but might not be for you
This is a fairly nice product. It is strong, well made, and easily assembled. I actually did not end up using it however and I will explain. I thought it would be a good item which would combine two functions, to go over the toilet to make it easier when I was using that, and to also use it for its intended function, namely to make it easier to get into the tub. I have a standard 60" cast iron tub and I can only access it from the right non-drain side, and I was unable to get this device to sit in a way where it straddled the tub to the floor. The slope of the tub made it so that, even while adjusting the legs, I could not get it placed into a position where I felt safe to slide onto it. It might work if you enter from the other left hand side of the tub where the water controls are, but this was not possible option for me. So it did not work for me for its primary application of getting in/out of tub.I did find that it worked placing it over the toilet and using it as a seat. The plastic toilet seat has a hole in it which allows access to using it as a toilet seat. I did not use this for a raised toilet seat however because I just thought it was awkward. I should say, the first thing I did was remove the chair backing, as there was no application where I found that useful.I wish today I could return the product, as I am recovered now thirty days later and did not use the product at all. However I did not feel right about that, because I thought and do think it was well made and well thought out, and I had held onto it for that reason. But in the end it is just something that tried to do too many things, and if you need a chair, get a chair, if you need access to the tub, then this not so great for that, and if you need a raised toilet seat maybe get one.

Works perfectly
Never thought I would need something like this at my age. Post op foot surgery led me to no weight bearing for a few months. This was a life saver. Fit in/out of my shower. Husband still needed to assist me getting and out but I was able to take a shower somewhat independently once I was seated. The removable center was convenient. You definitely need a removable shower head though.

We need larger seats & sturdier materials.
Tried to return they told me no. I ended up donating it to a charity rental place I got other items from. Got this for my mom. She felt like she was going to fall out of it. The gap on the side with no handle.. freaked her out as well. I don’t understand why we can’t find a bath chair with large seat. Since the person will be wet don’t ya think they could slide out a little easier??? We need to be able to clean them well and since they can’t stand we need them to be able to move around.

Good value. Careful with the insert
It's affordable and the sliding feature is nice. But if you're going to use it while the insert is in, you have to be careful sitting down on it. The insert is pretty unstable. I've had many times where I've gone to sit on it and it's shifted so much it's hurt and scared me that I might fall. One time it even pinched my sensitive area if you know what I mean

Well made, easy assembly
I got this to make showering safer after a medical procedure. It’s simple to put together. It took me about 20 minutes to unpack and assemble it. No tools needed. I really appreciate the fully adjustable height. It’s sturdy and well made too. Once assembled the seat slides easily from side to side and even locks in place for added safety. I’m going to feel so much safer using this during my recovery.
