Dorlands Wax Medium is the perfect last step to your watercolor painting.
I am very happy with the Dorlands Wax Medium for watercolor painting. Just as described. I just wiped a little dab in a circular motion or back and forth to smooth over my entire completed watercolor painting. It enhanced the colors slightly and formed a waterproof seal. Allowed to dry completely and water droplets just rolled off the surface with no disruption to the painting whatsoever!Awesome Next Day Delivery 🚚!!

Saved my project
Great! I used this to wax a child's book I wrote. It child proofed it wonderfully.

It is wax. There are how-to's on YouTube
because it comes with no instructions. I have rubbed it on several bookmarks. I use gloves. It is hard to buff. Maybe I am using too much, I am not sure. I have used it on several type of watercolor paper all with the same results. I have not tested if the bookmarks are waterproof after waxing yet. I worry that the wax might come off in a book, so I wonder if a clear spray would work better. It works well over dried watercolor, and Pigma Micron pens. It does not work well over colored pencils, (they have wax in them) but it did not take all the color off so it worked out ok.

Protects your art journal pages
This is one of those products that just does exactly what it says it will do. With multimedia art journaling, having pages stick together or smudge is a common problem, and I tried lots of fixes with no luck. Somehow I had the idea that waxing the pages was too "fancy," something only real artists did to protect their watercolor paintings. I'm so glad I finally tried Dorland's. Not only does it keep my journal pages from sticking, but it's actually pleasant to apply. You just rub a small amount into the pages, slowly and gently. Very Zen. Then let it dry for a couple of days and burnish it (again, gently) with a very soft cloth. I use a baby washcloth. I've used it over watercolors, acrylics, glued-down collage pieces, ink, etc. No smearing and vibrant colors when done. Love this stuff.

Works great and I like the finished look
I think with mineral spirits and love the look! Much better than the spray I had been using on my watercolor cards.
