Functional and sturdy
Once I got the hang of installing, it was pretty easy. Make sure to clear are of stones before attempting to pound in. Looks great!!

Great product; horrible merchant
I ordered 120' of the Choppers. This was the first time Amazon handled the order from a merchant for me and they completely messed up. They sent me 20' instead of 120' and when I called I was not able to get the order corrected. Although the customer service rep was excellent the product, as advertised, just wasn't available. Very frustrating.I ordered the identical product and quantity from Home Depot at a lesser price.I used the Choppers to create a 4 level raised strawberry bed. Because of that, the ground had been excavated several inches and refilled with well composted manure and sand. I have no doubt the soft ground helped but the installation was a breeze. I followed the advice of previous reviewers and pounded in only a few sections at a time and that helped the job go more quickly. Building the bed up horizontally presented no problem. It has been in place for two weeks now and I couldn't be happier with this product. The Choppers are staying in place and are not shifting or moving. The dirt is staying in place, not overflowing or leaking through to lower levels; the plants are rooted and growing. Yesterday a neighbor's dog put his big paws in the strawberry bed and a couple of the sections came apart. It was very easy to slip out the effected sections and re-place them. I am very very pleased with this product and have no doubt I will be using it in future for other outdoor/garden projects.

Does the job but with limitations
The edge system works, but extra care must be taken to install. Any rock or root must be removed as the edges are not rigid enough to push through and they crack. This means a lot of digging to prep the area, which then may require seeding afterwards if putting around a lawn. Now your next issue, loosening the soil actually makes it harder to keep edging straight.Overall it works but there are better options.

Hee Haw Would Love Em
Nice, sturdy for plastic, thought they were going to be metal for some reason. Easy to hammer in when the soil is wet, some of the choppers would turn sideways still, and I had to go back and re-hammer. Sometimes, the loop connectors would disconnect too, and it was hard to pull the choppers back out of the ground once they have been pounded in.Some may think they look cheap, luckily I am trying to use them as a grass (Bermuda) barrier for my garden. Seems to be three ways to install. The first is to link them together first, the entire row, then try hammering them in- impossible. The second is to do them one piece at a time- too time consuming. The third, and best way I found, is to put two or three together then try hammering the set together. All in all, not a bad purchase for the price.

Used for ground cover - worked well
I used it for sections of my garden where I didn’t want ground cover to spread like crazy. I also did not want it seen, so I covered it with mulch. I recommend using a spade and do the entire section you want to lay it. After I did that, the pieces fit perfectly. I had them connected ahead of time, by 8. Since I had already marked the area I wanted them, it was super easy to lay. Then used a rubber mallet to put them into place. They were sturdy, though I was somewhat cautious. I only broke one. I would recommend. I used them in a few areas and it is doing its job. Definitely use the spade first, don’t just try to beat them where you want them. You will definitely break them that way.

Updated, disappointed. Be sure to pre cut your line!
My family is a family of gardeners and has used these choppers, by name, for my entire life. Naturally when I got my own place, I got the same product. I know how to install and am careful with the pieces. I love the clean, uniform look of them and the low but still visible profile. However, as I was putting them in, I noticed that they seemed much more brittle than the product that I knew and loved. It is definitely a different kind of plastic. Every 12th chopper or so cracked completely across as I installed making it unusable in the line. I’ve repurposed the pieces to hold in a rock bed along a neighbors fence line but it was disappointing to have so many break.Installation tip: Make sure you pre cut the line/edge that you intend to have for these with a straight edge shovel. I forgot this step for the first few and broke all 5. Pre cutting will ensure a quick, easy instal with minimal breakage.Update: my family has had the same choppers since I was a kid with the very rare replacement, even with kids and dogs running over them. These are not comparable. They haven’t even made it a full year. There is not a single chopper around any of my flowerbeds that isn’t broken and jagged now. Even accidentally knocking them with a snow shovel breaks them. I purchased 2 boxes and used them all - this will be a huge cleanup project in the spring.

It works as advertised
It worked so well the first time I used it I bought sixty feet more. One comment ...I would like to see an extra joining adaptor for 45 degrees as well as the 90 ones supplied

Not as strong as they once were
I have used these edgers in the past, they were far more robust. A number of them broke even using a rubber mallet in soft, wet ground. Disappointed overall; however they will fulfil a need in difficult to access areas that needed grass control
