Great product!
I bought these eye patches because of a problem with a nerve that controls my left eye movement which resulted in double vision. I went to the emergency room at the pre-eminent eye hospital in my region of the country and they gave me a regular "pirate" style eye patch to wear. This helped with the double vision, but it didn't allow my glasses, which I need to see well out of my good eye, to sit squarely or comfortably on my face. I had real troubles reading, doing things on my computer and even watching TV. Figuring there had to be a better product out there, I looked to Amazon and found these patches. Since they were under ten bucks so I thought I'd give them a try. Well, I'm glad I did! These patches are totally opaque and black, blocking all light and are designed to cover not only the lens of your glasses, but they also wrap around the side. The ones I got extend far enough above and below the lens on my glasses that they block nearly all light coming into that eye. There's only a narrow strip of light above and below. The patches are light-weight and they don't bother my eyelashes, so they're very comfortable. Two things to be aware of: First, there weren't any instructions included and it took me a few minutes to figure out how the things went on my glasses. I have wire-rimmed glasses and needed to cut a small slit on the inside of the patch to fit around the little prong that holds the nose-rest. This wasn't hard to do, but instructions would have helped. Second, one of the pictures on the product page says it comes in two sizes. The product description didn't say what size these were, there was no drop-down selector to choose a size and there was no size designation on the package I received, so I don't have a clue whether I got the regular or large ones. I suspect they're the regular size but I have no way of knowing for sure. Whatever, I would guess that the ones I got would cover glasses up to the size of the roundish lensed, plastic rimmed ones. Overall I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this product. For the price, you can't go wrong.

CATARACT SURGERY -- WHAT your EYE DOC may not tell you!
There was no eye patch or lens shield in the post op bag I got from eye surgeon, just a hard plastic eye shield for night and dark glasses. For some people, JUST popping out the lens of their glasses on the eye they had surgery works. DIDN'T for me. The vision was just TOO different. WHAT I LOVED ABOUT THIS SHIELD: CAN USE ON EITHER SIDE OF GLASSES: I can put on right or left side. If I want to give the eye with cataract surgery a rest, I put it on that side. If I want to just see out of my newly-operated on eye, I put it on the other side. QUANTITY - the fact you get several is pretty cool because I got readers for small print even before I had other eye done (I could STILL see small print up close with eye I didn't have surgery on because I'm so nearsighted) because I KNEW I would NEED readers. I put one of these shields on my new cheap reading glasses. I also got a cheap pair of blue light computer glasses and put one of the shields on the side I didn't have done yet. PRICE - HARD to beat the price and WELL WORTH IT TO ME. BLOCKS OUT - most light AND, if there a breeze, helps block that out. FOR ME and what I NEEDED FOR, FIVE STARS. WELL WORTH THE MONEY.

Don't judge the book by its cover!
My 11 year old needs to patch her lazy eye and so I found these online. She wears glasses all day so would need something easy and comfortable at home or else it would be difficult. When I opened the package, you get like 4-5 in the package and they feel like cheap plastic. Let me tell you, these were so easy to use that my child kept it on for her full time (2 hours daily) required and it fit her glasses perfectly. These were a perfect fit so if you have large glasses (bigger than the typical reader glasses in the pharmacy) these may not work. I was pleasantly surprised!!

Good, but not great.
I was hoping for a "total blackout" as one person mentioned in the FAQ, but that's what I got. The good thing is that the patch will cover the glasses and block MOST of the vision in the covered eye. This meant I didn't have to try juggling my glasses and an eye patch with a band that will squeeze my head. Unfortunately, it does not block light so my mind is still trying to use the eye unless I close it. At least with the patch close to my eye, it's a bit easier to keep it closed. Also, be aware that the patch will smudge your glasses.

Excellent!
Much better than more expensive ones I’ve tried! This is, so far, a better solution than several other patches (those that go over the eye with a strap around your head, and those that go on the glasses lens) I’ve preciously tried, and paid much more for. I’ve taken and labeled several pictures, and made a how-to video of how to put the patch on the glasses since I had a heck of a time figuring it out myself. While this would not be a solution for me if my eye was drawn to light around the outside edge and outside bottom of my glasses, because my eye is mostly drawn to light at the bridge of the nose and bottom that sets in my cheek at that location, this patch is perfect. I patch because of intermittent double vision, and some days as an attempt to decrease the vertigo caused by an MTBI. The patch isn’t touching my eye at any location, even in the tear duct area where you’d think it might. While not an especially soft material, it is not as rough as appears in photos (at least to me it *looked* a bit like rough canvas in the photos). My only concern at this point is how well they’ll hold up over time as I’ll be removing them often (on days when I don’t need patching, or when I need to switch it to the opposite eye, or when I’ll take it off to wash it). However, at this price, they might not be too expensive to replace regularly. I don’t know if there are actually 6 different sizes, or two diff sizes with 3 each. However it is supposed to be, I have two pair of glasses and 2 fit the smaller pair and 1 fits the larger pair.

Perfect! Good quality and easy to use.
This is EXACTLY what we needed after hubby's eye surgery. The other types of patches do not work under glasses, as they are too thick. These work great for patients who need to patch an eye without having the patch touch the eye. It allows air flow to the eye while blocking out light from the side and the front. It significantly reduced the unsteadiness caused by temporary double vision. It was easy enough to "take off" by sliding it along the side of the glasses, and it stayed handy where it could be moved into place again. I will be using one myself in a few weeks when I get my regularly scheduled procedure done on my eye. The temporary fuzzy vision has always bothered me to the extent that I'm usually pretty useless. After my husband's rave reviews, I don't dread the procedure as much, now that I have a good eye patch option. (Note: If you're going to have to wear an eye patch after cancer surgery, you might as well spring for a good pirate hat. Getting a parrot might be over the top, though.)

Excellent Product. Covers all of glass lens.
I've read the negative reviews and originally felt the same way. Then I watched the video a customer sent in. (She was wearing gloves; thank you, ma'am, for that excellent video. It changed my attitude 180 degrees). Once I put the right lens cover on correctly it was a totally different situation. This covers the whole eye very well and so far has stayed in place, but could also be removed quickly. 3 patches each in two sizes. The bigger size covered my big trifocal lens. I'm very pleased and feel the price is very reasonable, especially with free shipping from Amazon. Thank you again for the video and thank you FCarolyn for the great product.

Almost perfect
Both sizes fit my lenses, but the smaller size for more snugly. My only complaint is that the patch (regardless of size) still lets in a small bit of light at the bottom of my eye/glasses/cheek area. This kind of negates the need for the patch, as it's supposed to completely blackout light. Other than that, it's a good product. Not flashy or fancy. There are also no instructions on how to wear the patch, but most people, I guess, will be able to figure it out.
