Best docking line investment ever...
Small, simple and just works perfectly. Tried an expensive docking stick but it was too heavy for "the crew" to work extended. Added this to my lite weight boat hook and now a line-loop over a cleat or piling by "the crew" works every time.

Simple and effective...and it's cheap!
I have seen a lot of boat docking tools come and go. This clever little device is one that should stick around, I hope, forever. It is deceptively easy to use and costs very little compared to the competition. You simply loop your line on the end of your standard boat hook and then clip it into place on this device. That way your loop is wide open to go around pilings, bolsters and cleats. There are videos on youtube that will help you understand how easy this is to use. Two thumbs up.++++++++++++++++++ABOUT ME:I finally got fed up with the traffic and lack of competing products to choose from when shopping at the local big-box stores so now I do almost all my shopping on Amazon. I recently read Cyber Fraud: The Web of Lies by Brian Seely, about Google Map frauds and have taken to heart that the best way to counter fake reviews is for legitimate customers to post more real reviews. Currently, 100% of my reviews are for products that I paid full price for. In the future, if I some how manage to convince a company to send me something for free, you can rest assured that I won't be changing my opinion of a product based on what I paid for it. I want the best products available and we should all be able to know what they are. If you find this review helpful, witty, charming, absurd, let me know by clicking on one of those buttons right there...no, a little lower, now right...there!

Works as described - makes it much easier to lasso a piling
Expensive for what it is, but it does do the job and reduces the stress and time necessary to get a line around a piling.

A must if trying to tie up alone
Works very well and just what I needed when boating alone. I did find turning the catch in the opposite direction of that which was illustrated worked much better for me. I hope the stretchy velcro that it uses to attach to the pole will last a long while. Time will tell.

Does what it advertises
For very little money it attached to boat pole, holds loop open to place over target cleat, or post. Tried it with 10 foot pole and 5/8” heavy double braid nylon line. Well worth the 13 dollars I spent. Should make things less stressful on windy boat days.

For small boats than mine
This may work but is too small for our boat. It needed to fit our boathook snugly to work but it is too small. This may work for lines up to 3/8". My 3/4" lines were too heavy and could not be held
