After These Fillets, I'll never Go Back to Sardines with the Guts Still Inside
After these fillets, I'll never go back to sardines with the guts still inside them. I used to buy Tiny Tots sardines, but then my local grocery store stopped carrying them, so I saw these sardine fillets, and gave them a try. They taste pretty much the same as regular sardines with guts and all, but I had always had second thoughts about eating fish guts, so I was delighted to find these gut-free sardine fillets. Think about it; would you ever go back?Recently I ran out and checked to see if Amazon has them, and to my surprise they do! Switch to these fillets, you'll be glad you did.Tip: I found using shrimp sauce (red with horse radish), mixed with mustard and soy sauce makes an excellent dipping sauce for sardines. It's similar in taste to the horse radish and soy you use with sushi. Now I mix the sauce in a small bowl, and dump the whole can of sardine fillets in the bowl, and mix it up with a fork, breaking up the large fillets into small pieces.

great for a snack and my senior dog bland diet
My 15 year old doggie is on a bland diet and I began looking for some ways to get variety into her meals. She LOVES salmon or any fish I eat but it's too costly to make her meals of that! This bulk package of sardines (like kipper snacks really) is a great alternative - perfect for pets as they are without salt and in just a bit of plain water that also makes a nice "gravy." Each easy-open tin has 2 solid whole pieces, each piece giving me just about the 1/4 cup that I need to mix with rice & veggies for one meal. One can = 1 day for my 13 pound pup. She loves this as something different and a "treat" meal from the usual chicken and hamburger!!! Even for people these are a nutritious snack, with crackers and a bit of spicy brown mustard or Go-chu Jang, etc.

Not at all like regular sardines (in a very good way!)
I bought these by accident at my local bodega here in Manhattan, and I was shocked when I opened the can. Instead of the usual whole fish (tails and all) - and the usual ultra-strong "fishy" taste and smell - these were white meaty fillets that you'd expect to see served on your plate in a restaurant!Buttery and delicious! They're perfect for work lunches.I'm eating for my blood type these days, according to which I need to be eating a LOT more fish and a lot less meat. This is a virtually effortless way to get fish into my diet.

you need to like sardines, they are an acquired taste
First, you need to like sardines, they are an acquired taste. If you do, as I do and want a decent taste, and good price...then this brand and the price offered at Amazon is the way to go. Some people don't like the fishy smell. It's not as prevalent when your order them in spring water rather than other flavors. Remember with flavors, shelf life is your enemy!. Ultimately, I rinse mine, removing the water they've been stored in (for who knows how long) and start from there. Over lettuce, or onion and tomato...and zesty Italian dressing containing olive oil, some sardine lovers may find this recipe appealing---and of course, maybe not. But again, it starts with being one who likes sardines.

My order was delivered the date that was given
I was very dissatisfied with my sardines because I had broken seals of 2 cans that leaked over my entire order

I believe that these are the best sardines on the market
I believe that these are the best sardines on the market. I used to buy Reese skinless/boneless sardines packed in water but the local grocery store stopped carrying them. I was never too comfortable with the fact that the Reese sardines were canned in Morocco, anyway. These Brunswick are boneless, too, and I like the fact that they are in water with no added salt and that they are canned in Canada. These also aren't true "sardines"..if there is such a thing. These are larger than sardines from the Mediterranean since "sardines" from North America are actually young herring. If you've ever had Brunswick Kipper Snacks, these are the same fish but without the smoke flavoring.

Deceiptful packaging
I bought 4 cases of these for my dogs and/or survival food stashing. Still probably a good value for the money for my purposes but I am displeased by three things. Label says sardines, ingredients say herring. These are nothing like other sardines I have had. They don't look the same at all but taste fine. No bones or skin though which is where the most benefits are. My biggest complaint is nowhere on the packaging does it say these are wild caught, only on the Amazon listing. So I don't even know if these are wild caught or farm raised but as the package doesn't say wild caught I am guessing they are actually farm raised. Super bummer because I was pretty excited to find wild caught sardines for such a reasonable price. We usually buy Bella Portuguese sardines for top quality but they are too expensive to stockpile or feed to our dogs....
