IKARIA: Echo of Eden: A Journal

Lovely written personal, spiritual, philosophical, historical tour of Ikaria. Thoroughly enjoyed reading. Of Mediterranean ancestry I could identify with Ikarian people and culture. In particular the lack of being tied to a timetable and family oriented dances and gatherings where young and old participate together.

Im Zusammenhang mit der Beschreibung ihrer Besuche bei verschiedenen Verwandten vermittelt sie in leichtem Erzählstil Informationen und Stimmungen zur Insel. Ideal für eine Lektüre auf der Insel oder zum "Appetitholen" davor!

Great accompaniment to the author's first book on Ikaria - LIVING (and eating), DELIBERATELY. For those of Ikarian roots - and those just interested in Greek island history and life, this is a warm, passionate look at the island of Ikaria and its people - with a few Soufiko recipes - that very Ikarian cuisine, thrown in the back. Highly recommended.

I am still reading this book, I find it very humorous and extremely funny beginning. Chapter one. I find it very informative as it is a part of my history as well. Very interesting reading.
