Is this as accurate as a Renishaw brand one? Will it shatter when the probe is crashed, as designed, just like the Renishaw one?

Yes it is as accurate as a Renishaw. Ruby ball tip falls off, does not shatter. I have not had a Renishaw shatter, they fall off as well.
