Dynamic Yoga: Elements of Yoga: Fire with Tara Lee

It's good to energize your "fire" element!
I have many yoga videos and have had this one a long time but barely touched it. I barely touched it because I was fearful it would be too strenuous. Well I did it today and it's doable. I did it because I know some navel work would be beneficial for me. If the ab work gets to be too much you can make the exercise easier with a modification or take a break.I like this video because it does work your "fire" element. The fire or navel focused breathing at the beginning made me feel very good and warm. It energized me. The first segment is all about the navel, the core, the "fire" element and it makes you feel energized, warm, and strong.I realize we need to mix up our yoga so I plan to do these "fire" type yoga exercises once or twice a week to create balance not only body but mind and spirit. The fire element also can make you more willful in following thru in your goals or courageous. Important elements of life.I have Tara's "Earth" and "Air" also both great DVD's. This one is just a strong focus on the fire element. Thank You Tara Lee for a wonderful DVD.

Very Challenging!
I have another Tara Lee video that I really like (air and water), so I bought this one. For me, this one seems far more advanced! It is more vigorous overall and includes a lot of balancing and core work. Just doing the first two practices was a challenge. It starts with a lot of boat pose variations and goes from there. I was familiar with all of the poses, but they are among the more challenging for me--down dog splits, standing splits, balanced warrior three, half moon, and others. I have been doing a level 1-2 yoga class for maybe 6 months, and have had some other experience with different styles of yoga before that, so I'm not a total beginner. However, I really can't even do the third practice and would not know how to modify most of the poses so that I could do it. I will try to work up to it, but might have to progress in my regular yoga studio before being able to do it correctly.

Excellent
Tara is the best. I appreciate the voice over instructions given during the yoga experience which helps me perform all the movements better.

Can't Speak Highly Enough!
I own quite a few yoga DVD's as I mostly exercise at home. And I find myself turning to Tara Lee's amazing videos more often than any others. I LOVE this practice! The Fire Practice has got to be my favorite of her 3 element based practices. I think that is because of how many twists and hip openers are in this DVD, after I finish I always feel so yummy. The heat building is very balanced out by periods of rest and there is a definite focus on buidling core strength. There are some pretty challenging moves in this practice so if you are just starting out, I'd go with her Earth Practice, but if you are looking to begin challenging yourself this DVD is perfect. I love Tara's voice, it's so soothing and easy to follow.

Great core workout - not for beginners!
I work out regularly 5-6 days per week and consider myself to be in decent shape, and I found this one to be a rather challenging core workout, which is more like a pilates workout than a yoga workout, which is why I give it 4 stars instead of 5. This is not for beginners or those looking for a relaxed yoga routine, but I do find myself to be very relaxed when I'm finished with it. I mainly use as an addition to another cardio or strength workout.

Nice intensity, but disjointed flow
I think if I could return this one, I would. The 10 minute core routine is great, and I enjoy tacking that on to my other at-home yoga classes. But, the full length class is just off. It doesn't flow the way I'm used to, which makes it feel unbalanced. I feel like the instructor has you doing random poses in no particular order. It is also broken into 3 separate sections, which doesn't help with the feeling of not having a flow. The first two sections are around 20 minutes and the last is 35, which is different from what the back cover says. Just as an F.Y.I. I also don't feel good when I'm doing this one. My body doesn't feel good, and my mind doesn't either. Lastly, she often rushes through the second side so much so that I've had to pause the DVD to get the same amount of time on each side. Yoga instruction is a personal thing, so maybe this works for others. I just wanted to share my thoughts and experiences. I do feel like I work hard in this one, so that's a plus.

Awesome
Tara's videos are great. Her instructions are easy to follow. This is more advanced that her other two DVD I have. But in her calm manner she just explains to keep trying that it's ok to tip over. I did tip a few times but was glad to have her say it may happen and it's ok. It really is like being in a class with an instructor because she explains things so well.

Best yoga tape ever
Best yoga tape ever. I've only been doing yoga for about 4 years so I consider myself an intermediate. This is a very challenging tape for me but every time I do it I get better and better. I do this tape at least once a week and still love it. There are a few poses I don't see this 57 year old doing but I at least try! Definitely worth the money if you love yoga!

Great for core strength
I like that you can either pick 20 minute sessions of the practice or complete the whole DVD. I agree with others this is not for beginners but if you are used to yoga practice or want to challenge yourself a bit more, it's very good. Concentrates on the core (lots of plank moves) more than balance but there are also some additional features on the DVD where you can do 10 mins of balance etc. You can listen to the DVD either with commentary or just music. I've only just ordered the DVD and completed it a few times but really enjoying and can see how it strengthens and flattens the core.

Tara Lee is an amazing yoga instructor
Tara Lee is an amazing yoga instructor. I was a total novice when I bought her air and water yoga workout and I enjoy doing both. This one's a lot harder but I'm getting the hang of it. I always feel great when I'm finished.

Not a beginner DVD
Been doing yoga for a year and of the 3 dvd's found this one a bit hard. Would get beginners or flow yoga if you're newbie, as she works really fast and takes no prisoners in this dvd. That said, it will get your belly and butt into shape in no time if you can keep up

good length of workouts and is so nice to pick ...
Arrived quick, good length of workouts and is so nice to pick and choose what to do in a short space of time (fits in well with young baby!) Very challenging, progression available with different options, demonstrated well and explanations clear. Really nice DVD, even got my husband hooked on it too!

Challenging and relaxing
I have been suffering from a ache in my back recently so decided to buy this dvd. After one session I could already feel the differnce in my back being improved. This is the more advance dvd which I did not relise there is a foundation one and then a second dvd before this one. I have now bought the two dvds before this to start from the begining to learn the basics.
