Honest Review
I think this is the first review I have ever done lol So I bought this laptop after my Levono Yoga C90 finally went out. Going from a state of the art Laptop at the time (2018) and with an overall price tag of $1400.00, I could not see myself going back to anything else. (It had a dolby atmos soundbar built in lol) It had everything and more than I needed. And when I decided to buy something I could take on the go and do my day to day. I came about this laptop on Amazon. I needed something that would able to do what I mostly do on my laptop. Word processing and watching YouTube and the other streaming services I cant live without lol and check into other social media if I felt like it. I spent two days doing research, and looking at YouTube videos and reviews of this laptop. When I finally got it home, I was surprised how thin and light it was. I am a musician and I was surprised how clear and how loud the sound would get. Screen was very clear and bright. The one thing I had to get used to, is the operating system. I have used Windows for 30 plus years. I was surprised how easy it was to learn Chrome OS. There are MANY features I miss from Windows. But for what I need it to do its holding up . Overall for this price I am happy. NOTE: I have seen some reviewers say there is not a back lit keyboard. THERE IS ONE. I would NOT of bought this laptop if there was not one. Thats the first thing I look for. This laptop is like an electric hybrid, light simple to use and will get the job done. IF you are looking for a juiced up race car with all the bells and whistles, then this is not the right laptop for you. But if you wannt something affordable and does all the above, then this might be for you

Go on, disrupt the status quo.
I cherish the look and feel, of high end electronices... and also this. The minimal tolerances of its crafted stainless steel shell departs a feel of quality and substance The smoothness in articulating the HD display from screen,180ยฐ, to tablet mode is smooth like butter. Even down to the backlit keyboard, the pressure and depth needed until activation is rewarding. Overall the outward appearance, keyboard, and satisfaction Ive found via user interface, makes this the best feeling and looking sub $1000 laptop I've worked with! Sorry to say, the power button brings the cops to the kegger. Having finite resources, it's evident where the money went, thus leaving it's performance swimming mid pack in a pool of 3,296 laptops, vying for shares of the sub $500 market. Nothing too exciting, you can see the numbers. Competent enough to tackle most computing tasks, having no problem running multiple windows, sliding back and forth with ease, etc. However, with google's recent announcement of extending critical updates, this laptop will be performaning years after planned obsolescence leaves Macbook or Window laptops, of any price,.in oveburdoned landfills. With so many positives right of the bell curve, I am left with the understanding, this is far and away the best buy in this segment.

Buyer beware
This item is falsely advertised. The description is for the 2nd model, 2H. However, twice I was sent the original model, 1H. This DOES NOT have a backlit keyboard. I wasted time troubleshooting and was argued with stating that the item I got was correct and just not working properly. That is entirely untrue and Acer can verify it. The laptop itself is lightweight which is great, but its a bit laggy. Between the keyboard missing lights and the so-so performance, I can't recommend this item at all.

Almost perfect Chromebook
If you've seen one ChromeOS you've seen them all, but there are a few ways that the hardware setup on this Chromebook is inferior to the much older Asus Chromebook that I'm replacing, which I loved for years and considered to be a perfect machine. - There is no SD card reader. Though it does have USB-A so you could use even an old SD adapter. - The maximum volume is not particularly loud. If you want to listen to this while doing an activity that's at all noisy (cooking, car repair) you may find yourself needing bluetooth headphones. - The speakers are on the bottom, which means if you set it on a muffling surface (your lap, a bed) it'll make the above problem even worse. - The screen dimness cannot be reduced very far. When used at night in the dark, the dimmest setting is still pretty bright (Night Light is little help, as it changes color temperature, not dimness). Without these minor disappointments it would be a slam dunk of a computer.

Love it
I love it. I use it all the time. Battery life is excellent. I can run it continuously for about six hours before needing to charge. I put it into developer mode and installed the penguin Linux virtual machine on it, and now I'm unstoppable.

Poor Battery Life but Updates until 2031
The Acer Chromebook Spin 513 is probably my eighth Chromebook. I have had it for about 2.5 months and feel I can make a fair review. I'll start with the PROS 1) it has hinges so it can be bent all the way back. I really love this feature and always look for it. 2) It will receive updates until 2031 which is probably long after the natural lifespan of this Chromebook but it matters. You should always check how long your model will receive updates for before you purchase it. This is especially true if it seems like a "deal". 3) it has plenty of storage. 4) Cost. This Chromebook was one of the least expensive models available at the time of my purchase that also had the features I was looking for. Now for the CONS: There are two significant issues I have found with this model 1) it has extremely modest battery life. Usually, a new Chromebook will last 10 hours and that will slowly decrease over time. From the first day, this Chromebook has never given me more than 5 hours before needing to be completely recharged. 2) The cursor frequently disappears and it will only reappear after a "hard reset". This is done by powering down the Chromebook and then simultaneously pressing the Power and Refresh buttons as it powers back on. I have never had another Chromebook that required so much resetting after only 2 months. So there you have it. Good luck!

Great Chromebook but no backlit keyboard as described in the ad!
It seems like I replace my chromebook every 2 years. I think this makes number 4. I don't replace them because they are bad laptops. I replace them because I always seem to spill some kind of liquid in them which damages the circuits and makes the laptop less functional and reliable. This laptop has a touchscreen and is by far the best Chromebook that I have ever owned. Be advised that this Chromebook states that there is a backlit keyboard but it does not. I reached out to Amazon support to swap it out for the correct model with backlit keyboard and they just sent me the exact same model back without the backlit keyboard. Very frustrating, but other than that, I am very pleased with it. Although I'd prefer a backlit keyboard, my time is way too valuable to keep playing the send it back and receive the same laptop, game.

"This Chromebook is The BEST!!!"
I Absolutely LOVE this Chromebook!!! It completely met all of my expectations on a Chromebook....I had a very old 11 year old Acer Chromebook C720 which I bought in Bestbuy in 2013 and it already reached it's End of Life date (Why Google is doing this!?....I just don't know!) So I was on the lookout for another proper Chromebook replacement then I went to a lot of online reviews and youtube videos and I finally found this. I had a great experience using Chromebooks because the Operating System of this laptop is Linux based hence why is very easy to use but I do admit it's limited but it fits my personal needs which are online bill paying internet browsing and watching videos and let's face it that not everyone is designing stuff online nor coding top secret /Classified codes so Chromebooks are perfect for basic stuff. I haven't tried the hinges on this thing or flipping it to tablet mode but I'll soon be and I'll get back at you for this. I Highly recommend this Chromebook if you wanted it for basic stuff like the things I've mentioned awhile ago and just have fun and for entertainment purposes!
