My favorite insulated jar!
The quality you expect from hydro flask. Very sturdy, has held up with a couple years use and still looks new. Colors are so unique and pretty. It’s got a large opening, looks like a bowl. Love the size. It hold about 2 cups of food. Definitely recommend.

Holds a lot
I’m a big guy and wasn’t sure this container would hold enough soup. It ended up holding more than I can eat. It’s amazing. The food is literally hot when I eat it a few hours later. It’s perfect. Great travel size for daily NYC commutes .

Keeps food hot until lunch time.
After multiple attempts at finding various brands of insulated thermoses for hot school lunches, I finally found a brand that meets all of my needs. It keeps hot foods hot for 4 or more hours, It has a wide mouth and has never leaked. The price is understandable because of the name brand and the quality of product.

Solid and thick
It is truly leakproof. The wall material is thick and made with quality in mind. There is no suction issue with the walls bowing in when the inside is hot. It is easy to open and keeps hot drinks hot and hot food super warm for lunch.

Mediocre
It’s a nice container, however the lid is poorly insulated and results in a lot of heat loss. If you fill this in the morning with boiling hot soup it will be warm at lunch. Also causes the inside of your lunch bag to heat up. Wouldn’t buy again.

Not Bad for Keeping Food Hot for Relatively Short Periods
I selected this food jar for taking soups and stews to the office. I have another that I have been using for years and it works great, but occasionally I fail to bring it home so I needed another one for those occasions. This one isn't bad; it works well and I like it, but it is not as effective at keeping things warm as my other food jar. This is a basic, no frills food jar - no handle, no rubber no-slip feet, no removable gaskets or anything like that. Rather, it is simply a double-walled stainless steel jar with an insulated top.I was surprised by the size when it arrived. I ordered the 20-oz. jar which is the same size as my other one. I expected it to be taller and more narrow; instead, it is shorter and wider than my other jar. This is actually a good thing as it makes it fit in my lunch pail more easily instead of carrying it separately. In use, it works fairly well but my other jar works better. Filling it with boiling water and letting it preheat for several minutes before filling with hot soup, between 5am and 11am my soup cools from very hot to just warm. It seems to fare better with cold stuff and the temperature rises more slowly than it drops. It's all right for going half a day but I would be hesitant to rely on it for a more than 4-5 hours. For my purposes that's fine, but others may not feel the same way. This is not a bad food jar but there are better alternatives. On one hand, it is short and wide versus tall and narrow which makes it a little more manageable in my case. On the other, it is not as effective as some other available options.

Does not keep soup even warm
I purchased this based upon the reviews from others, which I now think have to all be made up. This container doesn’t even keep my soup warm for more than 3 hours. I would add boiling water to the container and let sit for 5-10 minutes while I prepared my soup. When I would add the soup/stew/chili it would also be very hot. 4 hours later the contents weren’t even warm. The container was never put in the fridge, or left out in the cold so there was no reason for it to cook off so quickly. I tired for several days with the same results and eventually gave up.Today my husband grabbed it out of the pantry and again added hot water to it to warm it up prior to putting his heated up chili. Same results. We’ve decided it will be a good traveling water bowl for our puppy versus hot food container.Total waste of money.

Pre-heat with hot water
When pre-heated with hot tap water this vessel will keep food warm for about 4-5 hours. Filling the vessel with hot food (rice, soup) worked well for me.
