Great for the price
Finally accepted that my trusty old Antex irons needed to be replaced. They just aren't really up to the higher melting point needed for lead free solder. As I do not use a soldering iron on a daily basis I did not want to spend a huge amount and this one seemed to fit the bill. It heats up extremely quickly and the iron has a nice soft silicone lead which is so much nicer than the rigid PVC type. There is an adjustable sleep timer which is very useful. A gentle shake of the iron is all that is needed to "wake" it and return to the previous temperature. There is also "password protection" although I do not really see the point of that feature. The base power supply unit is a lot lighter than I expected and is connected via a "kettle" lead. The soldering iron stand is slightly heavier and their relatively light weights do not cause any problems for me. It comes with a selection of tips which are not of the best quality but at this price point I would not have expected them to be. The ball of swarf in the stand keeps the tip nice and clean and the desolder pump works well. I could not really be happier with my choice.

The best budget option
Lytool BK71 soldering station I own 4 different soldering stations my weller 1010 is my favourite but is so expensive for diy hobbyists And for hobby use this soldering station is perfect it’s compact lightweight easy to use loads of different tips are supplied with it Nice clear back light display Sleep function you can set between 1 or 5 mins wakes up fast as soon as you lift up the soldering iron so it saves the iron from burning out and helps to give prolonged life Offset temperature options also The iron is light weight and a comfortable size in your hand and the cord is soft and flexible not stiff like other irons I have so you don’t feel like your fighting with it It heats up quickly and adjustments to the temperature are easy and straightforward If you like to do the odd repair or diy soldering project this is a great choice at a decent price If your going to be soldering 8 hours a day every day then your best off with a weller 1010 Yep I have seen a few similar and can’t comment on those but I did put a lot of research in and read hundreds of different reviews before I came to this choice I haven’t been paid or endorsed to write this review and if I am honest most of my reviews I do write on Amazon products are generally negative as I like to be honest and not let people make a bad choice So to sum up Ideal for making diy soldering project you see hundreds of different kinds on here on eBay AliExpress anything from clocks to Christmas trees can’t go wrong with them it’s like painting by numbers but in a electronic way Then this is a ideal budget machine 👍

Perfect for the electronic hobbies or repair tech.
This is a fantastic value soldering workstation. Very fast warm up time and fairly simple to use. I notice other reviewers have commented on the device having the option to password protect. If working at home as a hobbies this feature could protect young or vulnerable people from causing harm to themselves or property. It is set off by default. The soldering iron is lightweight with a flexible cable. Caution must be taken when connecting this to the base unit or the small internal pins in the plug may be damaged. There is a locking ring to secure this in place. It is supplied with a fair range of soldering bits which should be tinned before use. The tip cleaning sponge is to the rear of the iron's holder which is fine. It is not a professional unit, but certainly good for the vast majority of enthusiasts. I have not given 5 stars for that reason alone. I dont think i'll ever need a different soldering iron as this will easily solder ground wires to the case of potentiometer, jack soket leads, and repair fine flexible pcb type ribbon cables, as well as repairing ordinary pcbs. For my needs, mending musical instruments, amplifiers or making jack plug cables, it's perfect.

Really good value soldering station
Arrived on time. Everything as described and the instructions are good. The kettle type power plug is a tight fit and needs a very good push to seat it into the control unit. I find that a bit strange but it works. The soldering iron is easy to use. Heat setting is straight forward and intuitive in some respects. There are five bits/tips to choose from included in the package to fit the soldering iron hand piece. They are easy to change whilst obviously cold! In use it is very good, making use of the temperature adjustment to allow for heavier work pieces than I would normally do, soldering up joints of a HO gauge train track. Solder flows easy and the hand piece stand supplied is good for cleaning the tip using either the supplied foil or sponge, nice!! The hand piece will go into standby mode after a user configuration time when placed into the stand and quickly reheats when simply removed from the stand. Temperature setting and actual probe temperature are displayed, nice!! I’m very happy with this unit, it’s made for a great Father’s Day gift and will see a lot of service. I can recommend it at this time. Update in a few months.

this is the best soldering iron i have ever used - fantastic!
I recently purchased the Lytool Soldering Station and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. This 60W professional digital soldering iron station is a game-changer in terms of efficiency and precision. The 3 inch screen digital display makes it easy to monitor and adjust the temperature, which ranges from 180℃ to 480℃, depending on the type of soldering work you're doing. One of the standout features of this soldering station is its quick heating and fast temperature recovery time. This means that I can get right to work without having to wait for the iron to heat up, and if I need to switch to a different temperature setting for a different job, it only takes seconds to reach the desired temperature. Another great thing about this soldering station is the ergonomic design of the iron. It fits comfortably in my hand and is lightweight, which makes it easy to handle and maneuver while I work on my projects. The station also comes with a helpful soldering iron stand that keeps the iron safe and secure when not in use. Overall, I highly recommend the Lytool Soldering Station for anyone looking for a reliable and efficient soldering tool. It has exceeded my expectations in terms of functionality, ease of use, and quality, and I'm confident it will do the same for anyone who decides to give it a try.

Superb for the price
This was a total surprise. Yes it's cheap for a soldering station but although made mostly of plastic it is well constructed. Clear display of temperature with a comprehensive set of features. Fast to heat up. The cable to the iron is very flexible so makes it a pleasure to use. Nice quality variety of tips included and even the very cheap solder sucker works well. Ideal for the hobbiest. Excellent value for money.

Great soldering station, especially for the price
I am an active electronics hobbyist and when my old soldering station died, I bought this one. It’s fantastic. Heats up fast, digital display is super easy to see, and it cools itself down when you haven’t used it for awhile so that the tip doesn’t just bake at full temperature. The stand is a little funny, with the sponge located so that you have to access it at a bit of an angle. But really nothing to complain about. Very very nice iron for the money.

Functional but a rubbish iron
The good: It's well built and heats up quickly; has a motion detector in the iron that turns it off if it's left alone for a while. The iron holder bent made of plastic wasn't actually a problem like I thought it would be. The bad: 1) It defaults to 480 celsius when turned on, which is an INSANE soldering temperature until you realise... 2) The heat transfer to and from the tip is actually rubbish, so you'll find yourself running it at max temp to get it to do anything. This can result in the tips becoming usless very quickly when there actually is heat transfer. Soldering is messy and desoldering is downright dangerous. 3) It's nice that it comes with a solder sucker but its tip is made of plastic. Do I really need to explain why that is an issue? 4) The rubber sleeve grip on the iron constantly slips back. 5) The tips don't secure very well with the screwy nut thing.

Go for this instead of cheap stuff, even for hobby
Amazing tool. I first bought a much cheaper one that came with even more power tools and accessories but it was such a waste. This one is absolutely amazing. Great tips, and very good temperature. The cleaning compartment with the holder is also really essential. On top of all that it looks really cute and nice, kinda oldschool.

Solid hobbyist iron
I picked this up as a backup for my Weller iron that lives on my bench. I wanted something that can spend extended periods of time in my garage without disturbing my workflow. I was also curious about having something compatible with Hakko tips (I think that's what this uses) since clones are seemingly everywhere. I must say, I'm impressed with the value here. I don't have a thermocouple to validate the temperature but temperature PID control isn't especially tough and I don't have any reason to think it's miles off. Honestly, there's not much to a unit like this, they're all going to be pretty similar. It has a little switching supply, temperature control, lcd driver, and that's about it - but that's all you need. Really the feature that set this apart from the other irons I've used is the giant digital display. I don't have trouble seeing smaller displays, but the big digits feel a bit luxurious. If you do a lot of temperature adjustments, it would serve as a good sanity check (I personally tend to set a temperature that works and use it forever). There isn't any support for multiple presets, so I would say that someone who switches temperatures a lot might not love that. The base is quite light, but after a quick teardown I've got no complaints about the build quality - again, there's not much to it. The stand is rather light as well, but the material feels very good and solid. I might try to add a metal plate to the bottom of the stand, but it hasn't threatened to tip over so far. The biggest shortfall to this sort of iron is the thermal capacity. You probably wouldn't want to use one of these to solder to big ground planes or join heavy gauge wire (It's only 60W) - but for tacking in through-hole components and quick repairs it seems to do the job well - and that's all I wanted it for. Added a quick video of it doing it's thing since I was playing with the microscope anyway.
