Nice and thin, almost as good as dentist made. Requires dexterity and following directions.
I have had a half dozen dentist made night guards, and a few drugstore trials that never worked out and were discarded. I consider myself somewhat of a connoisseur of night guards, and was willing to pay $800 for a top of the line dentist device. The last time I forgot my night guard on an out of town trip, my dentist noticed grind marks and encouraged me to get a drugstore one if I ever forget it again. So I ordered this when I realized I forgot it again.I am quite impressed with this Prodental guard. Mainly because it is much thinner and less bulky than the drugstore ones I tried in the past. The bulk of those just made them annoying and slightly painful to wear as they rubbed against gums. Trimming can make it worse because the cut edges are sharper.I have a relatively large mouth, and this fit me perfectly without any trimming. It seems to fully cover the teeth but not the gums. And it is compact enough that it fits almost as well as the professionally ones that cost hundreds of dollars. Enough that I might consider just using this when my pro one wears out.The main downside is that it isn't quite as tight and secure as the pro one, and a bit harder to clean. The thinner material isn't as rigid as the pro ones. Also it's a bit misshapen with a few weird notches that happened during the forming process, probably due to the thinness of the material. It's a good tradeoff though, much better to be too thin than too thick in my book. The page of directions included seems like something borne of experience, with lots of subtle guidance about getting it just right. It was a little annoying to spend time taking all that in before forming it, but I think the directions are a significant reason for the good results I got, well worth reading a few times.I recommend the three pack to try and perfect the process; it is easy to make mistakes that ruin one.I have had friends who had issues with night grinding, but weren't ready to spend $400+ on a dentist made. I will definitely recommend this to them.Pro tip: use a dental appliance brush (very strong bristles, available at walgreens) to clean it instead of the soaking solutions. By brushing off the plaque right when I take it out of the mouth and the plaque is still soft, my dentist says I keep mine cleaner than anyone he knows using the soaks, and he doesn't have to ultrasonic clean it like he did when I was just using the soaking solutions.Update 4/2019: I still really like these. After getting a new crown, I ordered and formed another 3-pack. One turned out great, one okay, and one I threw out. Again, technique is very important and following all the hints and tips is required for a good result. I would not recommend these to people who have issues with dexterity because the forming process is very exacting and has to be done rapidly. However I just ordered a new pack to have on hand in case anything happened to my nightguard; it's now part of my first aid kit. These are perfect for when dental work is in progress, much better than paying hundreds of dollars for a dentist nightguard for a few months, or going without.I also ordered the "amazon choice" night guard to see if it might be better, but it is significantly thicker and especially taller so I don't think I will even bother trying to form it. See picture for comparison.I do see that there are starting to be lab-created nightguards where impressions are done at home without a dentist, in the $100-$200 range, and I will probably give one of those a try once my mouth stabilizes. I like the idea of doing my impressions myself since I have had bad experiences with dental assistants who apply uneven pressure.

Can’t mold. Followed Directions Exactly.
The first one didnt work at all. It wouldnt mold to my teeth. No matter how hot I got the guard, it wouldnt mold. 2nd one wasnt much better at all. slightly molded more but if i opened my mouth, it just fell out. Third one I completely ditched the instructions and did what I thought would work. That one worked the best but still unwearable. I “overheated” it so it was very soft and then put it straight into my mouth. It molded the most but still would fall out if I opened my mouth. All 3 got thrown away. Waste of money😐

Overall good
I purchased this product specifically because it was advertised as "thin". It may be a little thinner than other guards I have purchased (but not significantly, and not as much as I had hoped), although it is definitely more flexible material (less rigid), which makes it more desirable. I found this product harder to get a good fit than any other guard I have used, probably due to the more flexible material. The first guard I had to trash. I just couldn't get a tight fit and the shape was ruined beyond repair after numerous tries (reheating, cooling). I got the second one to fit tight enough to stay in, but only after many tries (reheating, reshaping, cooling). In the end, I wore the guard last night and it was comfortable and worked fine. I like that this purchase provided 3 products for the price which is MUCH less expensive than the 2 previous products I used that cost more for just one. So in the end, even though I threw the first one away, I have one that fits + a spare. It works fine and is more flexible than other popular brands which makes it worth the purchase. The instructions are very good and thorough. The biggest issue is being careful when putting the guard in hot water to really watch it, and when it begins curling, take it out immediately. If you leave it in a few seconds to long, it could melt on to itself. For the price, if you can get a tight fit, it's worth it, but you may have to work it a few times.
