Yes, specific devices can be blocked whether the device is utilizing a wired (Ethernet CAT5-6) connection or a Wifi connection.  You can block the PlayStation several ways but the most reliable method would be to determine the MAC address of the PlayStation and block it.  Every device on that connects to your network either Wifi or Ethernet will have a unique MAC address.  If this address is utilized to identify the PlayStation then where the PlayStation is plugged in will not matter.  For example, my home was wired for Ethernet when it was built so I can plug a computer into the wall jack in every room in the house.  If my son moves his PlayStation to a different room it will not matter because you have the address of that particular device.  I know this because we have several PlayStations and XBOXs and have set up restrictions as well.  Also, this is obvious but you can identify any device like this and even establish priorities for devices.  So, if the kids are gaming and you are trying to watch Netflix you can set Netflix as a data priority over PlayStation so your Netflix can stream without any data loss/restrictions.  This device is expensive for sure but if you have kids and the kids use the internet (of course) I would absolutely recommend this router.  You have total control over all aspects of their internet usage not just PlayStation.  Essentially, this router allows you to establish internet usage norms that the kids will eventually get used to (Well, maybe not get used to).  If you are looking for internet protection this is the device you should be regardless of price.
