I had the fireplace guy put this in for me when he was fixing a problem with our gas fireplace. He probably used about an ounce, and it looks great. Adds a nice glow to the bottom of the fire where embers would normally be in a real fire. If you are using it in more than one fireplace, you will probably only need one bag.

This is the perfect item to be used for replacement of your old glowing embers in your gas fireplace. Always wanted to replace mine. Saw this on a Facebook post. And decided to order my own. Tomorrow a Service Tech is coming out to do a maintenance on the gas fireplace. Can’t wait to see what it looks like when they’re done.

Works great....but bag smaller than you think....you will need 2 for a 24-28 " log set... But looks great...

SUPER affordable and easy way to spruce up a set of gas logs. I moved into a house and thought the fireplace was kind of boring and looked more like a gas grill. Turns out - it just needed some of these rock wool embers! After scattering these across the gas grate, the flames are now a lot more interesting and look more like you would expect. The way the embers glow is also really cool.

I recently removed some rust and applied a black wax protective finish to our gas freestanding fireplace. I did not look at any videos or instructions on how to properly place the rockwool, however so the embers looked very unrealistic and the flame was like a gas grill. I decided to remedy this. I watched a very helpful YouTube video in which the gentleman used These rockwool embers to create a realistic glow. I placed the material over the vent holes per the instructions on the YouTube video and I think the results are quite lovely. These are the best looking rockwool embers I have experienced and I will definitely be buying more when I need them, but to be honest the bag that I ordered is large enough for a few re-applications.

These work for me. They heat up and glow like little embers. The 6oz bag allows a lot left over for future use. And you can adjust to as little or as much as you like (don't cover burner holes though). Two thumbs up.

We were glad to have a cheap source for the rockwool we needed to do the after-season cleaning/servicing of our gas fireplace insert. We had pretty much no idea how to proceed but with this huge amount of material it was easy to take chances to attempt to attach the material to our insert's 'logs'. In the end, we were left with probably enough extra material to supply our needs for decades as well as having extra to share with others. But the material performed perfectly and our now-clean and function-restored gas fireplace is ready for another winter of service. And we have enough material to do this same servicing again many times over.

Used this when doing a major clean up of our fireplace. A few small pieces here and there on the logs and the blue gas flames became beautiful real wood log flame look. Very pleased!
