Must get hammer and power drill
Two tools you definitely need to buy beforehand to assemble this: 1. Hammer or rubber mallet 2. Power drill I'm guessing the demo had all holes pre-drilled perfectly or the demo guy had super strength, but we don't have that luxury. So, you'll really need those two tools above to assemble everything tightly. Other than that, the assembly went smoothly. All the holes aligned, and the steps were clear. The demo video was way more helpful than the manual, so give it a watch. If the holes don't quite line up or panels won't push in, go back to the previous step and ensure everything's hammered in tightly. That usually fixes the issue. I'm a 5’3 girl, around 100lbs, and I managed to assemble it by myself in about 2 hours, using a power drill and a hammer (no help from my BF, ugh). The tricky parts were lifting the panels to get everything nailed down and getting all the holes to line up. It felt like a game of whack-a-mole: as soon as I lined up one side, the other side popped out. Having a second person would've made it so much quicker, probably cutting the time down to 1/3. All in all, I did it, although a little out of breath by the end. The bed frame is very sturdy, and it folds up nicely for easy storage or moving which I love! Once you finish the assembly, it functions as effortlessly as those foldable metal frames but looks 100x cuter. The low platform gives it a Japanese tatami vibe, adding a cozy touch to my bedroom. Just a tip: Lay down a big plastic cover on the floor before you start. There'll be a good amount of wood dust as you hammer and drill. I used one from a new mattress, and it saved me a cleanup.

Great quality, thorough instructions, excellent bed frame.
This bed frame is super impressive! The design is simple, yet extremely well thought out and functional. It folds up perfectly to be stored away and is very sturdy and functions better than a lot of bed frames that don’t do anything cool like fold in half. I love the Nordic style unfinished wood and overall minimalist aesthetic of this bed frame, I purchased it for my guest room and have already recommended it to so many friends and family. The queen tri-fold mattress I purchased for this bed fits perfectly on the bed frame. When not in use, I can stowaway the mattress and bed frame in the guest room and have more space for other activities. I did a lot of research on guest bed solutions, and I’m extremely happy with my purchase.

Great Product, Even Better Customer Service
I picked up the KD Frames foldable platform bed in a queen size back in May 2019. It’s simple, sturdy and surprisingly easy to set up. When I need extra space, it folds up without any drama and stores away cleanly. The build feels solid and has held up incredibly well over the years. I reached out a few weeks ago because I misplaced a couple of parts. Their team responded right away and sent replacements without any hassle. The customer service alone earns them a gold star. I’d gladly recommend KD Frames to anyone looking for a reliable, minimalist bed frame.

Sturdy & Quiet QUEEN Bed Frame
I have been struggling to find a sturdy QUEEN bed frame that is also collapsible so I was understandably skeptical about this one. After a few days of using it I can say I'm pleasantly surprised. The set up was easy although I wish there were sticker labels on each part. The bed frame is very silent and noiseless unlike squeaky metal frames. The raw wood has a nice smell and can easily be painted or stained. Best part is it's easily collapsible, great for storage and transporting.

THE BEST FOLDING BED FRAME EVER!!!
The item is very well packaged and arrived in excellent condition. The instructions and hardware were neatly packaged with the very clear and simple instruction sheet. The other reviews that state the instructions were not easy to follow are either talentless clods, or are inexperienced with following instructions. This bed frame took literally 25 minutes to put together and I had to use NO tools other than a single drill driver with a #2 Phillips bit. I could have easily just used a simple screw driver with no issues. The wood dowels that hold most of the frame parts together are perfectly sized. Each part simply presses into place with just enough tension to stay in place. The design is so well thought out that there are only 10 screws that hold the parts together in the critical points. Once assembled the frame is rock solid, does not squeak, and is perfectly stable. A nice foam or latex mattress fits perfectly and the fitted sheets wrap perfectly around the frame and help keep the mattress in place. It sleeps very well, the only improvement I would suggest is to make the center leg romovable so that the frame cold also lay completely flat on the floor by simply removing the center leg and the end folding supports. This would give the frame a bit more usefulness when being used as an extra bed. But this is just a suggestion that came to Ming after seeing the design and is not a complaint. The wood is Poplar and is well sanded and could be easily stained and sealed or simply waxed or linseed oiled and made completely finished. I will likely just leave it unfinished since it will be just fine as is for my use. It also just happens to be exactly the same height as my couch and thus the bed came be put up and slide right up in front of the couch which becomes the headboard and a bit of extra length for the standard full size frame which I bought. I am supremely pleased and happy with this purchase. And would HIGHLY recommend this frame to anyone. You can't go wrong with this one, as long as you follow the directions and have ANY skills whatsoever in assembling kit style furniture. If your all thumbs and can't even make a sandwich, then perhaps this frame would not be a good choice for you.

Yep, buy it.
Stylish, easy to assemble, and a great bed so far. This is exactly what I was looking for. Something simple, lightweight, and not ugly. Another reviewer said they were looking for a “minimalist bed” and I think this fits that description nicely. It really turns into a nice solid wood bed with no extraneous or overly complicated components, springs, cloth/slats etc. Very well designed from a non-bed-designers opinion. Folding it up is a little awkward but I intend to do it very rarely. Built it in my living room, folded it up, and moved it to the bedroom where it will stay as my bed. Since there are no lips to hold the mattress in place, you may want to consider some sticky/tacky strips if you want to have the bed in the middle of a wall, easy enough to get. Mine is in the corner against two walls and is fine. Take your time building it and read the instructions... seriously. Open the box up, have some tea, read the instructions, and identify the pieces. Assembly is mostly just pushing in pins or dowels and then pressing the various pieces together. Might take a little work to push some pins in if your hands are soft, keep something like a small rubber mallet or clean shoe to press in the pins fully (I used the end of my screwdriver.) Important: the wood screws are not that hard to get in, you can use a manual/hand screwdriver. You just need to press the screw down into the wood beneath while tightening the screw and it will catch in the wood and begin sink fully. From what I can see, any bad reviews should be ignored. It’s not creaking, it was easy enough for a competent person to put together with only a screwdriver, it feels like a real solid base, and looks great in my room. If something is not fitting/working, it’s almost guaranteed either user error or a part is defective (I’m sure they’d send you the pieces if it was really missing or inoperable, which seems unlikely based on packaging and design.) In one pic, you’ll see I ended up taping down the pins with painters tape. I was imagining that there’s no way they wouldn’t move about a bit and make some noise so took preemptive measures before I put the mattress down. Great bed, good job!
