Good choice for Porsche 914
First of all I was impressed that despite my ordering this oil on December 24, it was delivered three days later. Way to go Driven and FedEx. Besides the quick shipping I believe this is the best choice for my circumstances. Here's why. LN Engineering LLC is a developer of super high quality engine upgrade parts for Porsche engines and was involved in the development and testing of certain Joe Gibbs and now Driven motor oils. Charles Navarro, President of LN Engineering LLC, states that based on years of working closely with Driven he recommends their oils for air-cooled Porsche and VW engines. For a conventional oil, he recommends HR1. For semi-syn, GP-1 and for full synthetic, DT50. You can find more on LN Engineering's website. I just completed a rebuild of my 1974 Porsche 914 type 4 engine and hope to keep it alive for a long time. Based on Mr. Navarro's recommendation I got a case of this HR1. I went with the conventional oil because I don't run that many miles between oil changes. If I was going 3,000 miles plus on an oil fill it might be worth it to go with the much more costly full synthetic DT50.

Used in endurance racing Focus
Switched to Driven oil after some conversations with fellow racers and having torn down the 2.0 Ford Zetec where I used M One oil and had fairly significant scoring especially in cam bores. Same engine in a friend's car had more races on it than mine and SIGNIFICANTLY less visible wear anywhere in the engine. So far, no issues in the switch to Driven - give them a call and discuss. Great racing oil from what I have seen

Best oil you can buy for old classic car engines that need high levels of Zinc!
Studebaker cars are known to leak. I started using this and all oil leaks stopped. It also makes the engine run better and more quiet than VR1. I've tried all kinds of oil and this is the best for flat tappet engines.
