Riedel Vivant White Wine Glasses Set of 4

Very lightweight - almost too much so. The stems are nice and thin, but the wine glasses themselves are extremely fragile. I suspect they will not last. Even with just hand washing.One of mine broke in transit (poor packing!!! you shouldn't rely on a simple cardboard box with no padding to protect glass!!!), and Amazon/Target were nice enough to refund the full price (incl. shipping) and not require a return, so I ordered another set. Hopefully the next one will arrive unscathed.

Came to this site looking to replace one broken by a guest. Cannot believe the negative reviews. Riedel Vivant series for white wine: We have used these same glasses for years and routinely put them in a dishwasher with no ill effect. These are our go to wine glasses for everyday use. We have more expensive Riedels given to us as gifts but you cannot beat these generic wine glasses for all around use. They are real crystal bowls but use machine blown stems and bases. The nice, cheery ring when given a finger flick confirms their crystal nature. These are Riedel glasses but are mass produced for big box stores where they can be purchased locally. Local purchase allows you to inspect prior to sale for broken glasses. Note the series name if you go looking as Riedel makes approximately 13 different series of wine glasses, each series with anywhere from 6 to 29 different style glasses, each for a specific type wine. You really cannot go wrong with these glasses.

I bought these Reidel Vivant wine glasses locally, but am reviewing them here because I would have been very disappointed but may not have returned them because of the hassle involved. The disappointment for me? The bases of the glasses are etched in about a size 14 bold font with the Reidel brand name. The etching is large enough to be distracting and will be noticed by anyone drinking out of the glass. It may not bother you, but I find it obnoxious and so I chose to post this heads-up.

I think these are a great idea from Riedel and Target. You get really good quality crystal glasses which may not be as impressive as the company's other more expensive ranges, but are pefectly fine for every day use, and a lot better than many store brands. If you want good wine glasses but don't want to spend a fortune, this Riedel range should work out great.
