Overview the day-micro-pro from Bechtel is an active, 2-channel audio adapter. It is designed to connect one slur mic with 48v phantom power and two 1/8" microphones to a slur or camcorder with a 1/8" mic input. Both 1/8" inputs feature plug-in power. This allows you to record the audio directly to the camera in sync with the picture for videographers, sound designers, and more. With dual gain-adjustment settings, the adapter provides a stronger audio level to the camera and bypasses the noisy camera preamplifiers. Built-in good/over level indicators allow you to verify the signal levels at a glance and the trim controls let you adjust the output signal for optimum recording. A headphone jack monitors your audio from the adapter during recording or camera playback. Finally, the day-micro-pro will conveniently mount under the camera for a secure attachment to a tripod base or will mount on the hot shoe above the camera. Review: If you should video, the DXA-Micro should in your bag ! - This wouldn't be something I would have thought about purchasing but that changed recently. After a couple of situations where I was either recording a video for later upload or streaming live where I needed to change microphones and couldnt, I knew something had to change. After doing a lot of research, I found the BeachTek DXA-Micro Pro. I use it like a two channel audio mixer, so I can easily change between microphones without unplugging and plugging in. I use a PANASONIC LUMIX G7 4K Mirrorless Camera, with 14-42mm MEGA O.I.S. Lens, 16 Megapixels, 3 Inch Touch LCD, DMC-G7KK (USA BLACK) as my 4K video camera. Even when I only use a single microphone, the DXA-Micro allows me easier control over audio levels without having to hope AGC in the camera (which I have turned off) works when it should. It also saves the hassle of going into the menus during a shoot do adjust the levels. While I do use the on screen audio level meter to help advise when I need to change audio, I do the rest from the front of the DXA-Micro. I like the versatility of being able to use either a 3.5mm or XLR connector without requiring adapters to use either. I wish that I didnt have to use a 9v battery but with everything this device does there probably isnt a choice. With the quality and ease of use of this device, when I have a similar need in the future, BeachTek will be the first company I look at for a solution. Review: Excellent match with the Rode VideoMicro - This little audio adapter exceeds my expectations. I was looking specifically for a way to boost the signal from the Rode VideoMicro microphone into my DSLR (GH4). The DXA Micro Pro gives me more than enough clean signal boost to be able to keep the crumby in-camera preamp at it's lowest setting thus minimizing noise. I also love the separate channel volume controls allowing a louder and a softer signal to be recorded from one mic for a safety track in case of unexpected loud sounds. Also really appreciate the one XLR professional microphone input. This is a rugged, light weight, well designed and easy to use device with quiet preamps. I will be using this all the time for my documentary interviews. Very pleased.

Wire snapped after 4 months
We installed this device into our office film studio and after only a few months, an internal wire snapped and the audio adapter is no longer functional and came apart. Very disappointing as we couldn't purchase a warranty and we've had this product <6 months in an environment where it was not experiencing any undue wear and tear.

VERY DURABLE AND RELIABLE
For out on the street or in studio livestreaming, this thing can power a Shure SM7B with Cloudlifter and you can run two mics at the same time, all going into your camera recording. If you are running one mic, you can switch it to mono and have two different gain volumes so you can pick which one you like when video editing.

Saves SO much time in post!!
I bought this to use with my Sony a6400 and my Sennheiser MKE 600 shotgun mic in my basement video studio. Previously, I had been recording to my Zoom H4N recorder and syncing the files up in post, but that's just one extra step that can be quite time consuming if you have lots of files! This little wonder will enable you to capture that incredible audio you want from your XLR connection mic directly into your camera with your video, such that what comes out is the highest quality and perfectly synced audio/video that's ready to be edited! Incorporating this into my work flow has been a lifesaver! It's very easy to use, but you might have to play around with the settings a bit to find the right output for you. I love that you can plug your headphones directly in to check levels in the moment. I love that you can mount this either above (cold shoe) or beneath your camera. I've chosen to mount it beneath (on top of the tripod, under the camera). My mic doesn't require phantom power (it has a battery option) and I love that you can switch phantom power off or on depending on your need. The unit itself feels very heavy duty and well made and not at all cheap and flimsy. My only real complaint about it is that it requires a 9V battery and the battery doesn't last super long (longer if you're not drawing phantom power). 9V's are more expensive and obnoxious than other types of batteries that would be able to power it just as well. I wish they included a power supply you could use plugged into an outlet unless you're on the go. That's annoying, but not a deal breaker. Also, it is a little annoying that I have to unscrew my camera from the device to remove the SD card, but that's not the fault of the device. All in all I'm THRILLED with the performance of this device once I got it all set up! I can't recommend it enough for creators who use higher quality mics and want to save time in post!

Wow just wow! Audio quality increases!
I film a lot of live music, i struggled with my audio becoming becoming overly distorted and noise due to me having to be close to speakers. I did some research and I found this thing of a beauty PLUS you can attach headphones to monitor your audio output! You can also attach 2 mics AND have two separate audio recordings as one for a backup. Its affordable compared to other interfaces 9/10 : Only because the 9v batteries can get expensive. Battery life isnt to bad if you dont yse the phantom option (which is used if you want to use any XLR inputs

Super Solid & Versatile
I was a little hesitant at first. I number of reviewers had complained about battery life. I have yet to use the phantom power on this unit. The lapel mic and shotgun that I use don't require them. So for my use the battery is fantastic. I did buy a pack of rechargeable 9v batteries that fit great and I can change them out on a shoot. The Beachtek does require some learning and experimentation but it's been great for me. I use it with a Panasonic G85 or my old GH3. The G85 does not have a headphone out. I often times use an external monitor connected with hdmi. I can run a line out from the external monitor to the Monitor In on the Beachtek. I monitor my recording levels while recording with the switch set to REC. If I want to playback, I switch over to PLAY and then watch playback in the external monitor. If you're using only one mic it's great to set the unit to output switch to Mono and use the two dial in two different recording levels for the same source. One could be hotter and the other lower level for a safety. All and all, super solid.

This one pairs nicely to some of the smaller rigs and performs flawlessly
We have all sorts of gear that we use with our rigs. Some of it purchased and some of it sponsored. Of all of the pre-amps we use on cameras, we happen to have a number of various Beachtek models. This one pairs nicely to some of the smaller rigs and performs flawlessly. Great for making up for any loss in a camera's input if it doesn't offer much in volume for any reason, or if it has dirty pre-amps, like a lot of Canon cameras. Also great for feeding external records and so forth. The options cover everything you could ask for in a unit like this, and you can monitor everything live (of course). The only thing it is missing, is an LCD screen to see things in a little more detail than a few LED lights. Then again, that would be this ones more expensive brother that Beachtek makes available, so it comes down to how much you want to put into it. It lasts nicely when it comes to wear and tear, and we haven't seen any issues just yet with the Beachteks (when it comes to anything breaking down or failing in any other areas). **If you have found our review helpful, please vote it as helpful below so I know.
