After years of using torn open paper bags or plastic sheeting to protect tabletops or try to keep the potting soil where I could use it, I finally found something made for the purpose! These mats are great for use while potting plants to hold soil and keep dampness off the table. They’re also good for placing in the trunk under newly purchased plants when transporting potted plants home from the nursery. The mats are thick enough and sturdy enough to bear use without tearing.

2 great sizes to perform small or large potting jobs without creating a mess. The tarp is sturdy/waterproof and easily wiped clean. All 4 corners clip to provide a perfect block to keep dirt/liquids in. I really like the 2 sizes as it allows me to use the smaller one for quick re-potting of smaller plants in a tight space. Unfortunately the first set I received had one clip missing but I noticed it too late and let it go as it only barely lowered the protection. Since I couldn’t find another set with the same sizes combined, I purchased another as a gift to a friend but this time I checked it immediately and everything was ok. Despite the 1 missing clip, I highly recommend this set as it makes a dirty job much easier to deal with and also saves time cleaning up soil/water/plant spills.

These are fantastic! I didn’t know if I really would ever use them, but I have found that it makes potting up so much less messy! I love the fact that they fold up to almost nothing so I can store them easily. But when I need to use them, they are easily accessible. The two sizes makes it easy for different tasks, so I often use the small one when potting up my seedlings.

When I first used this product I LOVED it and would have given it 5 stars. I love how well this keeps the mess contained when I am mixing up potting mix with soil amendments when I am potting up my plants. After I finished filling the pots I was able to pick up the mat and slightly fold it to pour the remaining dirt into another pot. The problem came when I went to unsnap the corners so that I could fold up the mat. One of the snaps tore out of the fabric, and I didn't really pull very hard. So the fabric is too weak. I decided not to unsnap the other corners and ended up stapling up that one side the next time I used the mat. My recommendation is to never unsnap the mat. It is easy enough to fold it when the corners are still snapped together.

I do not have a potting shed or table so I have to repot in a space that is hard to clean. I was really tired of cleaning up spilled soil from rough concrete, and it seemed as if I spilled no matter how careful I was. But now I re-pot using these mats and I simply use them as a funnel to pour any spilled soil back into the bag or the compost. Affordable, efficient, easy to clean, easy to store!
