DER-FRANZ chocolate

This coffee smells like chocolate as soon as you open it, tastes like chocolate at first but with a coffee aftertaste and has a chocolately aroma when brewed.I don't understand how anybody can say they cannot smell or taste chocolate in this blend as it's almost more like a coffee flavoured hot cocoa.It has a recognisable chocolate smell although I can't put my finger on it, possibly Milka or something along those lines.I actually enjoyed the taste of this blend but wouldn't drink it 24/7 like a normal Arabica.

Been using this coffee since lockdown and found it to be low cost and very tasty. Unfortunately something seems to have changed. The last two bags I have received have been tasteless very weak. Not sure if somethings changed in the supply chain or what but it’s a shame as I like this coffee a lot! I’ve given it a 4* due to how good it’s been in the past but if this is what the coffee is now, I’m afraid I won’t be ordering again.

Initially there is some bitterness to this due to being a Viennese style coffee and 80% Arabia ,20% Robusta . I made coffee w it using filtered water and a 15 bar espresso machine. Finely ground so suitable for this, haven't had an issue w my machine. There is subtle hazelnut taste and smell ,package states 1.5% hazelnut added. Good everyday coffee for me ,don't see anything wrong w it. Doesn't taste like ashes just there is slightly more bitterness than w an Espresso Crema or other blend.Upstate : better results & taste with filer machine although too finely ground so some residue at the bottom of cup

Really awful. I was looking for coffee grounds with a bit of a sweetness to them, trying to use less sugar and syrups. But this stuff just has a horrible chemical taste, needed more sugar and syrup to cover it up. Not sure if I can return if I've opened one of the bags so stuck with it.

When I originally bought this, I was blown away by the value and the flavour. So naturally, I bought it again. This time around, when I opened the bag, there was an all pervading smell of rotten fish. I thought it was just the bag but nope, the smell was in the Bodum when I was filling it and now I have a horrible after taste in my mouth. I am hoping that this is something which will fade, or at the very least, the second bag won't have. It is pretty much undrinkable otherwise, which is an enormous shame.Taste and smell still there, and apparently this is a non refundable purchase. So you have to take pot luck with whether you get anything drinkable for your money. I see someone else has had the same problem, no response from the seller

No vanilla flavour at all, very disappointed but it’s very reasonable price for these quantities.These is very bitter taste and I didn’t like it.

Coffee isn’t my thing.. but apparently these are delicious, so much so that my husband has repurchased. He says they’re flavourful but not overpowering taste wise, the deal for 2 bags helped them be good value for money as a stocking filler present and I must admit they smell lovely (despite me not likely coffee)
