Very healthy juvenile size male betta. He has colored up red with powder blue. Quality purchase and great price.

My little friend just arrived today. Very energetic and happy to be done traveling! His packaging was secure, and he had water/air in his bag, but I wish there were something other than a bag for them to travel in, as he had his head poking into the corner of the bag when I got him. As a packaging designer I may come up with an idea and will share it with the seller...I didn't want to waste time taking pictures of him in the bag, I wanted him in his home (which had been ready for over a week before he came) No need to really adjust him to the temp as the weather has been warm and his home has been temperate. I felt he needed to get out of that bag asap... He came out with some actual blue with the red and white (you can almost see the blue in one of the photos) - but the blue seems to have faded back a little - may come back in. I'm enjoying him changing colors as he's adjusting. Right now looking like a Koi...as seen in the shots near the rocks. Regardless, he was very energetic upon release, and ate quite a bit of these pellets I got. I think they're a little big for him, so will get flake food to try also. He seems to enjoy his new home. he has a betta bed/hammock, a lighted bubbler (that I can adjust - but he seems to enjoy mid bubbles) he really likes one particular 'plant' which is similar in color and has good 'camouflage' for him. He also REALLY likes the stones at the bottom. I caught him just looking around the bottom even nudged one of the rocks. So, we've kind of selected a name for him. 'Rocky Balbetta'. he seems to like it. I know I know.... he does follow my finger, and seems curious about me. he does look at me and holds the look for a while - not skittish at all. Overall, I'm very happy with my little fish, and may consider ordering some friends? I've seen you have little snails that are good companions? I'm rating low as giftable as I know things can go wrong in transit, and it would be too sad (and Godfather'ish) to send a fish that didn't make it, but its thoughtful and fun, as long as recipient would be prepared.

So I have to rescind my 1st 5 star review 1st fish I was happy He lived red white and blue, 2nd fish a beautiful big blue one with red front fins..was very happy..3rd fish looked pearl like on 4th attemptmp received a open wet box and packing..no fish..on replacement got a fish that couldnt move Looked bad and died within 18 hrs..Never swam Buyer feels if fish is DOA he will fix but blames your water if it dies right after.. believe me Betta's are very hardy and hard water is no issue thats why they can live in 1 cup of water for weeks..I believe due to the poor care with the fish before shipped has everything to do with hardiness once you get it..I can also warn you You will usually get the fish no one likes the colors..Do yourself a favor Go to local store with a mask on and pick one you like for $3.99 I have now dont that for 5 more..I dont want my $17 I want you aware of what you are risking to buy from this seller

This fish is beautiful. I just didn’t know it was going to be mailed, that worried me a little. Seems healthy. Thank you. I thought it was going to be delivered by Amazon. Still happy

Although my betta is one of the cheaper 4.99 ones that you can pick up at most fish shops I do not have any local shops not big name or small ma and pa close. The closest is an hour away so this was a great option and worth the extra cost since they ship them well and they arrive in excellent condition. It did take a long time to get him but they did state this when purchasing so it was expected. He arrived on the earlier side of on time. Today is day 4 since I received him and he is in a 2 gallon quarantine tank at this time to make sure he remains his healthy self but he is doing well. He is curious, doesn't seem to be scared of anything, active, and quite pretty. He will head into his much bigger fulltime planted tank after Im sure all is well. He is little but that is ok as I look forward to watching him grow.

Waited and waited with tracker going nowhere, so I contacted the CA seller who replied quickly. PO issues from virus, so they shipped expedited and the very young betta arrived healthy but totally scared. I'm sure with what the poor fellow must have gone through. Major protective packaging! Was so pleasantly surprised! He had plenty of air left in his little bag. I see dark blue on his outer fins. Hard to see well in the pic. He shows the potential of some red on his body once he grows up. White body and all means he's so very young. So its a wait and see. Meanwhile, he's getting used to a 5-gallon tank. I think he's confused as I'm sure he was originally kept in a very small holding tank before. But he's slowly getting it. Even blew up at a mirror. Smiles! Update February 2021: The poor little California Betta has grown from a whitish body with slight blue fins as a little baby to a lovely blue with red highlights adult. He has a lovely five gallon tank with lots of plants, neon tetras, small Cory cats and a zebra plecos. He lives in his floating log I got from Amazon, of course, (pandemic and all). I got this lovely fish for my husband recovering from major hydrocephalus who named him after an NCIS LA character, Deeks. The purchase of that betta has resurrected a long missed passion we had with fish. We're up to two five gallon and one ten gallon tank. Each with a betta. Gotta love them. Beware though... Owning fish and takes can be exhausting and expensive!!! But, if you love them, will go for it!

Would advise you not to order from this company. Box was not labeled as including live pet so mail person had no way to know it should not go in our mailbox. I was home and retrieved it from my mailbox quickly but if I was not home would have been more of an issue than it was. The fish was not well, very weak, and did not live over night. Warranty is only 2 hours from postal delivery so nothing I could do to get another fish or money back.

I have two bettas now from this seller, the first one I got two years ago, and I got my second one a few days ago. the one I just got looks very healthy and the older one has not had any health issues or scares ever, they’re both in 5 gal heavily planted tanks I change the water every few weeks and they’ve always been happy healthy little dudes. Every betta I’ve gotten in person from my local petco has not lasted longer than 6 months so this seller is a great option if you do not have a good LFS in your area.
