great value for a small toy
Cliche first, I don’t usually write reviews...If you want it put simply, just buy one. At the discounted price I paid of £34.99 at launch it's a no brainer. (Tribit had sent me a code). This little speaker is so good for the money I bought another one to try the stereo feature, (more on that in a bit). It comes in a lovely posh box with a thankyou card, actual paper booklet and cable, all very nice quality. Get the speaker in your hand and you get the same feel of quality, smooth finish and nice build. Pairing was simple and quick, no annoying voices, just funky sounds. Time to play some music. The connection to our Mac and other Apply devices is very good and does not drop in places other speakers do. It goes plenty loud enough to hear around the house or garden. The sound is nice and smooth, even warm, but still has detail, not at all mushy. I would go as far as to say it sounds musical which is an achievement at the price. This means you can listen as long as you like and it still entertains. There is bass there and in a good way it does not take over artificially like some speakers, it just matches the overall sound. Oddly I got nice results using the strap and hanging it floating, rather than on a surface. Battery life seems as good as indicated, charging does take a while but not important to me. Ok, the stereo feature. You can either play two speakers in stereo mixed to mono or actual stereo which is very clever. I thought it sounded really good. Getting it to function was a bit fiddly for me though, bit hit and miss, when I switched them off they dumped connection to the Mac and I had to start again to get normal playback. Anyway not a problem for the more techno savvy I am sure. I have a very posh main Hi-Fi system and a few other higher end bluetooth speakers to compare this to and for me it is amazing at it’s price. Yes it has limitations but if you want a small high quality toy and real value for money, get one. Tribit customer service is first rate too if you have a problem as I did with a different item, no hassle and fast service. Five stars! Update Spring 2022...Both units still working great. Bought a JBL Tuner 2 for the radio function, which is very nice, but the Tribit Stormbox Micro side by side wins out for me, so warm and loud and tiny...easy to listen to.

Great sound for the size
This speaker is alot louder and bassier than you would expect for a speaker of this size, I use it only for when I'm out cycling and the battery is my only complaint, as I have to charge it after every single ride, even on low to mid volumes you will be hard pressed to get the 8 hours they say it lasts for (maybe only one notch up from silent?) after my 3 hour ride yesterday it had one led of battery left so I'm guessing it lasts for maybe 3 and half to 4 hours at very moderate levels.... Other than my gripe with the battery (that's not a huge thing) the rubber strap seems brilliant as I've cycled on very bumpy roads here in Ireland and it's worked perfectly (130km so far so can't speak on longevity) but for the money I would definitely recommend itDimensions 98.3x98.3x34.8mmWeight 293g

Great for a micro flat-form speaker
Ok for openers would never get this at full-price - There's just so much better out there for less or similar to the RRP - unless the form factor is Essential to your requirements. Currently there's a promo which makes it a realistic and comfortable proposition - And watch a certain respected German gentleman's Y0uTu6e video on it - It really does outperform a unit that costs nearly 3x as much.Sounds clear, sounds loud, no distortion I could pick out. Some bass presence. About the size of a Google Nest Mini. Downsides - You can only get it in the dark grey colour; No mention of aptX low-compression codec for streaming.16/07/20 edit:So it continues to work a treat, but I stand by my pricing comment - Yes it is almost half the price of the little B05E equivalent, and yes it sounds better - So if you were in the market for a that micro soundlink model, get this instead. But, if you're in the market for a great bluetooth speaker, there's three other, bigger, more powerful, better sounding Tribit speakers out there - Two are way cheaper, the most expensive is within £8 of this model.

Insane soundstage in stereo mode
Mind blowing for their size and yes two in stereo mode is recommended. The clarity and resolution is superb. The soundstage is huge. Low bass is there but will of course not punch you in the chest. It can be heard in the room next by though! If you own two try placing them approx 20cm from your ears faceing up while you lay down. Then the soundstage is better compared to my hd650 + chord mojo! Resolution is not as good (still very good) but the soundstage using the tribits is actually more compelling :)Ruggedness seems good. Mine have fallen 1m due to bass vibrations. Moisture no problem yet.Downsides:- some rattling/vibrations from the housing can sometimes be heard if there is mostly bass playing.- bass is toned down at volumes 80% plus.- pairing sometimes needs two/three tries but once they are paired they won't loose contact like other well known brands. If you want the smallest portable speakers with the best sound quality then these are superior. You get a bt reciever with decent distance. A good dac. An efficient amp. A "two" way speaker. Hifi sound. Decent battery time. All in an a unbelievable small housing. My hat off to the engineers at Tribit.Update: I can pair 4 using samsung dual bt audio there is however a small sync diff.
