The material has sort of "plasticky" feel - more like the feeling of a blue tarp than an outdoor chaise pad or chair cushion which, in my experience, have more of a cloth feel. There are no "mattress tags" to define what it's made of. One long piece of the material goes from the back on top, around the front of the cushion, to the back on the bottom. The sides are sewn, and the back has a zipper - accessing the synthetic foam-of-some-type pad inside. There are ties at each rear corner. Because the long pieces wrap clear around the front, one of them is sewn off-center a little bit, which is evident in the picture. So I can't give them a "5" because they're not perfect, but definitely adequate. They're very comfortable to sit on.

We were searching for replacement cushions for a vintage patio set and bought 10 of these. They're perfect. They tie on (great for our windy area) and repel snow and water. Plus they're thick enough for comfort, and tough enough for dogs (ignore the dog hair in photos we have 3 german shepherds). My favorite thing was that they came with the cushion covers on the cushions complete. No assembly. We saved the boxes to store them in winter. Would buy again.
