Brilliant with great cooling — smarter temperature control would be amazing
I’m using the AIRCOM T9 on top of a Denon AVR, exhausting upward, paired with an AC Infinity AirPlate S9 at the rear of the TV cabinet. The two link together easily and work extremely well to pull hot air out of the receiver and then out of the cabinet. Build quality is excellent — solid, well-made, and it looks great sitting on the receiver. Setup is genuinely plug-and-play, and I really like that the display can be turned off so it isn’t distracting during movies or TV. Cooling performance is exactly what you want. Even in a generally cool room, AV receivers generate a lot of heat inside cabinets, and this setup keeps temperatures under control. Noise levels are very good — usually very quiet and only slightly audible during very quiet scenes depending on content. My only gripe is that you can’t set independent upper and lower temperature limits. Because of this, the fans can cut in and out as temperatures hover around the trigger point, which can be noticeable during quiet viewing. Proper temperature band control would make this close to perfect. That said, I still highly recommend it — especially if your receiver runs hot. Heat kills AVRs, and this does its job extremely well.

Great Product, better than anything else I've seen or used!
Product: AC Infinity AIRCOM T9 I bought the AC Infinity AIRCOM T9 to cool down my Parasound amp. Sitting out in the room, with an ambient air temperature of about 79 degrees F, the amp's heat sinks were measuring around 120 degrees F. Hot to the touch. I started looking for a cooling solution and when I came across the AIRCOM T9, I thought this product might work. Better than building my own... The AIRCOM T9 does work and it works really well... amazingly so. On the lowest fan speed setting (with my mods in place), the AIRCOM T9 front panel temperature reports about 12-14 degrees above ambient. My digital temperature gun confirms the T9’s front panel temperature readout within a degree. This is a vast improvement over the 40 degrees F above ambient I was measuring at the heat sink. Keep in mind the T9 is measuring air temp (bottom side of the T9) where as the digital temperature gun measures something solid, like the heatsink and the metal discharge grate around the fans. If I turn the fan speed to a higher setting, the front panel temperature reading drops even more, but as expected, the fan noise increases. At the fastest speed setting, I saw a 5, 7 degree difference from ambient. But the fan noise was too much for me, even though the music obscures most of the fan noise. With the fan set to the third lowest setting (out of 6 possible settings), the fan noise level is much more agreeable. When I discovered the lowest fan setting worked like a champ, I just left it at the lowest fan setting. At the lowest fan speed setting, the fan noise is present, but its nearly, almost inaudible - consider it essentially inaudible. It’s quiet enough that guest won’t hear it when the music isn't playing and when the music is playing, for sure, the fan noise isn't heard. Heck, when the music isn’t playing I don’t notice it anymore, and I've got the critical ear. If either the AIRCOM T9 or the AIRCOM S9 (both have essentially the same specs) is used within a closed furniture cabinet, like most entertainment center’s people buy, I suspect the highest, fastest fan speed would not be heard as its not that loud. The AIRCOM T9 front panel display can be turned off. When on, its a bit bright in a dark room. Its fine for me. The mods I made to the T9... around the perimeter, on the underside, I added a “D” shaped 5/16” x 23/64” Auto and Marine Rubber Weatherseal, a black colored EPDM rubber product I found at Lowes. I left the T9’s feet in place and when I placed the T9 on a glass table top, I could see all the seals were touching the glass surface sufficiently, deforming enough to create a sealed chamber in order to pull the air through the amp without any front, rear or side leakage. This is probably why the lowest fan speed setting works so well for me. One thing I noted... the fans are slow to change speed, meaning the spin up and the spin down time is gradual instead of an instant change of speed like with my computer fans. I think this is a positive aspect... not becoming aware of the fan speed change. Keep in mind... the AIRCOM T9 has a temperature probe protruding 1, 2 mm on the bottom side. You can feel it with your finger, located around the middle fan... don’t knock it off. The downside to the AIRCOM T9? Another wall wart to deal with! Annoying, but its a small price to pay for the AIRCOM T9’s performance. The ambient air temperature in the photograph is around 75 degrees F. Without the AIRCOM T9, the heatsinks would measure around 118, 120 degrees F. With the AIRCOM T9, 87 degrees F is great. The highest temp I've ever measured at the heatsinks was around 126 degrees F, and to be CLEAR, WITHOUT the T9 in place and doing its cooling thing.. The construction of the AIRCOM T9 is really good. Impressive construction quality. The packing box is solid enough for USPS/UPS shipping, though Amazon put it in another box. Thanks Amazon! So, would I buy the AIRCOM T9 again? Yes, but not for my amps. I think the AIRCOM S9 would work just fine. I really don’t need the features of the programmable AIRCOM T9 for my amps. The amps I’ve owned get hot and stay hot, regardless if they are idling or playing music. A constant flow of air through the amp’s heat sinks is all I need. I want thermal stability from the constant air flow. I don’t want the fans turning on and off. Constant airflow with little noise is the goal. Yeah, I’m happy with the T9! I’d probably be happy with the S9 as well. I do like the T9’s front panel display... Instant feedback! Update: 8/17/18 I continue to be very pleased with my purchase of the T9. Because of the cooling it is providing, I think my amp has a "better sound" than without the T9 cooling. Yeah, I know... all of my imaginary audio voices are telling me so. I do think the amp will probably live longer.. heat's a real killer for electronics. I think some clarity is needed about noise... on the slowest fan speed setting I use, in a quiet room without any music playing, I can hear the fans. Mind you, my amp sits out in the open without anything to block the fan noise. See the pictures. I've caught myself wondering what that "noise" was, and when I realized it was the fans from the T9, I said, "Oh, OK... 4 larger, slower turning fans would have been better". Still, the noise level is really low, and when I play any music at a low volume settings, I do not notice the fan noise. Regardless, still very, very happy with this purchase. All of my imaginary audio voices are telling me I brilliant!

Must Have for Warm-Hot Running AVR/Amps!
Let me start by saying this is the easily the most deserving 5 star review I've ever given! I recently returned a buggy Onkyo receiver and bought a Denon. For my setup, the Denon works far better and while I couldn't be happier, I also couldn't help but notice this thing runs quite a bit warmer than the Onkyo did. My setup lives inside a dedicated closet with active ventilation, but I wanted something to keep the Denon running cooler, giving me better peace of mind for my equipment in terms of both longevity and performance. If you have a receiver/amp that tends to run warmer than you'd like, I couldn't recommend this unit more and it is worth every penny of the full price I paid for it! The first thing to consider is where your avr/amp has the most space for the exhaust to be vented. For me, I have my avr atop a floor-standing rack with 13" of empty space above, so I opted for the T9 unit. *It's important to note that the 8 series exhausts rearward, the 9 series exhaust upward and the 10 series exhaust frontward, depending on what would be ideal for your needs. I experimented with turning it off and running my system for a bit, then turning it back on to 'smart' mode to see the difference. In 'off' mode, I saw probe temperatures registering on the T9 of 94 degrees after watching a movie for 20 minutes or so of action. Upon switching the unit back on to 'smart' mode, I immediately noted the temperature slowly decreasing, on down to 79 after about another 20 minutes or so. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the fantastic build quality and appearance of the unit. It feels like a serious piece of home theater equipment: solid, sturdy and heavy, deserving a space anywhere from a modest home entertainment console to a custom rack full of high end equipment.

Refrigerator For Your AVR!
Best small investment I've made yet for my home theater, hands down! I was waiting on AC Infinity to hopefully make an S10 or T10 front exhaust system since the rear exhaust wouldn't work for me with my media rack not having an open rear cabinet and didn't want the top exhaust because I wanted to stack my BD player on top of exhaust system due to space constraints in my media rack and I saw on their website at the end of last year that they were coming soon and I kept an eye out on Amazon for them to be released and both systems went on sale within days apart and I couldn't wait to get my hands on the T10 and ordered it as soon as it was available. This thing is incredible and does an awesome job keeping my Onkyo TX-RZ720 nice and cool. I love the digital display and felt that was worth the upgrade price over the S10. Being able to see the exact current temp of my AVR is extremely useful, I also like temp and fan speed settings along with the ability to set an alarm if your unit goes over a certain temp so you know to shut off your AVR if need be so it doesn't overheat. I have the unit set on smart mode with a max temp setting of 87 degrees F for max fan speed to engage on that setting it starts the fan on low speed at 77 degrees F and for the past week my AVR hasn't gone over 80 degrees F and usually stays around 78 degrees F while still on the lowest fan setting and that's with driving the AVR pretty hard and in use for over 5 hours at a time. As a reference, I wanted to test the temp probe and see how hot my AVR was getting without cooling and didn't engage the fans and ran my AVR for 6 hours the day I got this and it showed my AVR hovering at about 94 degrees F. Shut down the AVR and went to bed and the next day engaged the fans on smart mode and the temp has been holding steady at 78 degrees F after 5 hours of use. Very Impressed! The fan is also extremely quiet, I can't really hear that it's running but the display tells me that it is and I can also feel the air coming out of the front exhaust vents. Trust me, if you want to prolong the life of your AVR, grab one of these exhaust systems, either the S or T models and whatever exhaust application works for your (front, rear or top). The T has a few more bells and whistles than the S and I don't regret the extra $20 for these upgrades but either way, protect your AVR as overheating is one of the reasons amps or HDMI boards go out prematurely and with how much AVR's cost, especially higher end ones, there's no reason not to protect your investment but that's just me :)

Easy to install, easy to configure, looks great, and extremely quiet
I was originally concerned about noise, because places often say their products are quiet, and then I find out the fans are louder than they led me to believe. That is not the case with this, especially if you use the "smart" configuration feature, which steps up the speed of the fan every 2 or 4 degrees in a range of temperatures, so it can begin cooling without adding noise. As a result, I've seen it increase to Step 1 (lowest fan setting) many times to keep my Denon AVR cool, and it usually remains there, or shuts off when it cools it down a bit. I've only once seen it go up to Step 2 (out of 5 steps I think, where step 5 is the max fan speed), and it only remained there for a short bit before going back down to step 1. Even when operating at step 2 (i.e. speed 2 out of 5), I had to struggle to try to hear it in a quiet room. Pros: 1) It looks nice, and matches my Denon AVR nicely, in color, shape, and dimensions. 2) There are several models that allow you to choose what works best for you: air pushed to the front, the rear, or straight upward. I chose the T8, which pushes air backward, since I have an open entertainment center, and the heat can escape out the back. But they give you the option to choose which model is right for you: T8, T9, or T10. 3) Easy to "install". Basically, take it out of the box, set it on top of your AVR, and plug it in. It'll work right out of the box, and is that simple. 4) Easy to configure. If you don't want out-of-the-box default functionality, which I didn't, there are several operating modes you can choose from, and the instruction manual along with the interface controls make it very easy to figure out how to configure it -- very intuitive. I opted for the "smart" mode, which steps the fan speeds up and down as it automatically senses the temperature from the device. This uses less electricity, generates less noise, and is basically worry free. Cons: 1) It's kind of expensive. I was thinking of switching to a T10 model (front facing exhaust), in case I get a different entertainment center, but it was so expensive, I didn't want to spend the extra money, so I'm just sticking with my current entertainment center and the T8 rear-exhaust. I wish it was a bit less money, but I was obviously still willing to pay it. I probably would not have if it was very much more, and would've just opted to buy some other cheap fans for the top of my AVR. OVerall, it's a very good, high quality product, and I recommend it. Just make sure to purchase the correct model for your needs: T8 - Rear Exhaust; T9 - Top Exhaust; T10 - Front Exhaust.

Gets the Job Done, Easy To Use, Slightly Loud, Lowers my temps by 15 degrees
I have a Denon Receiver plus a separate amplifier in the center section of my AV cabinet. The front door of the cabinet is kept closed and the back of the cabinet is open back. The back of my cabinet sits about 3" from the wall. My Denon receiver is on the bottom shelf which is where I use the T9. The shelf above is occupied by my other amp which powers my center and R/L side channels, and the shelf above that is the top shelf and is occupied by my Martin Logan center channel speaker which doesn't generate heat. Sitting, with all power off, my equipment sits between 76 and 80 degrees depending on room temperature. My separate amp remains in standby mode and does generates some heat at all times. With all my equipment powered on, and with no fan running, my equipment hits peaks of about 102-104 degrees at reference levels when pushed hard. This is not ideal! With the T9 on, I am able to keep the temperatures down to about 88 degrees which is on the high part of the ideal range but still in range. I use smart mode and the fan does not have to run at it's highest level to stay at 88 degrees. Fans run low, to medium low. This 14 degree reduction is very significant and is why I believe the T9 does the job as advertised. The fans are a little noisier than advertised however I would not say it is a deal breaker. My decibel meter measures the T9 fans running at the mid level at about 52 decibels. Keep in mind that the meter will also read ambient noises as well, so to put that in context, the room is about 39 decibels without the fan on. This is a noticeable amount. (Note that you don't simply subtract the two numbers to get the actual decibel reading of the fan). I can't hear the fan during normal viewing but you can hear it on quiet scenes, even behind my closed door cabinet. It doesn't bother me too much and it becomes unnoticeable when you are not looking for it. I think they can lower the noise by using more efficient fans to run at lower levels. Overall I recommend this product. I will be supplementing my T9 with another fan that will siphon the air and heat out of the back of the cabinet. The convenient thing about the T9 is that when adding fans, all you need is a fan that can be powered via USB. You can plug them directly into the T9. (no plug or extra wall wart).

Made an immediate and huge difference to component temperature
This made a huge difference to my poor amp that was cooking away in what I thought was a nicely ventilated media console. I was getting worried about how hot my amp was all of the time. I placed this fan unit on it and the amp has stayed cool to the touch after a while evening of music and movies. Great little product. Very solidly built. Perfectly sized to sit on top of my Marantz Cinema 50

Excellent unit, unsafe included adapter
Very fast delivery. The AC Infinity AIRCOM T10 fits almost perfectly on top of my Denon AVC-X3800H and looks very clean. It keeps the receiver very cool; I use Smart Mode with 35°C as the trigger temperature and 43°C as the alarm. The unit itself is excellent, quiet and effective. It also helps cover the top ventilation area, so dust cannot fall directly into the receiver from above. However, my unit came with a US power supply and a cheap loose EU adapter. I strongly recommend that nobody uses the included adapter. In my opinion it feels unsafe and could be a fire risk, especially behind expensive HiFi/AV equipment. I replaced it with a proper SKROSS adapter before use. Great cooling unit, but the included adapter should be replaced immediately before connecting the product.
