Q: How do you get the batteries in the TP-53 with magnetic apartment?

Just squeeze the little 1/4 inch white lever right below the center of the magnetic bar while pulling up on it to open the battery compartment.

Q: Can it be calibrated?

The TP53 comes factory calibrated. It is not able to be calibrated by the user.

Q: Can this device display dew point instead of relative humidity?

Good luck finding a meter that will display DewPoint in addition to RH% for under 15 bucks! The only weather device I own that can provide both is my Davis VP+ weather station. That will set you back just under $800.00 USD. ;o)

Q: I want to use it to monitor humidity in a cheese cave at about 85%. Will it measure humidity this high?

Yes it will. The humidity range is 10%-99%.
