Covers the smell
I use crystal cat litter, and change the 2 boxes (for my 4 cats) ever Friday. By Wednesday they are starting to smell a bit, I add a cap full and bam... no more smell. It has a nice smell, not over powering.

Not bad at first, fades quickly. I add more every week or so, or more if I notice it needs it. Probably would be best used every time you scoop (or every day for robot users.)
