Having wasted money on other small battery testers that soon fell apart due to poor construction, I was in despair of finding a good one. But this one is sturdy and it's accurate. Perhaps it's a tad more expensive than others I've had, but it's worth it.

I've had many battery testers over the last 50+ years, this one is the best by far. Costs a little more than the rest and it's worth every penny. Someone new what they were doing when they designed this one.

I bought this tester on the strength of the Amazon reviews - thank you all! - and its lived up to them, can't say fairer than that, so won't woffle on about it other then to say yes, it works very well indeed! Small, compact, digital and works really well.

Compact and easy to use. The display showing both actual voltage and level bars is very helpful. Comparing measured voltages of numerous batteries with a trusted multimeter it appears to read slightly lower but close enough (e.g. 1.57 vs 1.59 for a 1.5V battery, 9.62 vs 9.65 for a 9V battery). Certainly good enough for a quick check and more convenient than using the multimeter. However, when using the 3V setting for button cells I got anything from 85% to 97% of the voltage measured by the multimeter, e.g. a brand new CR2032 measuring 3.29V on my multimeter measured only 2.89V on this tester, but then a 3.14V CR2032 also measured 2.89V on the tester and a 3.04V CR123A (camera battery) measured 2.96V. I don't know if I got a defective one or if they all suffer this issue, perhaps from poor contact with button cells.

Absolutely excellent battery checker, no messing about with 2 leads, trying to touch each one to the positive and negative battery terminals. does not need its own battery to power it. Highly Recommended - so easy to use.

Does the job as it should.

Love it. No battery needed to power it. Easy to quickly check the charge of a battery. Solidly made and I have confidence in TFA Dostmann as a make. (I have an alarm clock by them which is still going strong after many years.) Will most likely last forever.

Probably worth paying the extra for this clever battery tester. Much better than the Draper one I had AND it gives you an actual voltage readout as well. The sliding scale of whether to replace it or not is very useful.

Il TFA Dostmann BatteryCheck è davvero un piccolo strumento indispensabile per chi usa spesso batterie in casa. Permette di controllare in pochi secondi lo stato di carica di praticamente tutti i tipi di pile: AA, AAA, C, D, 9V e anche pile a bottone. Il display digitale mostra chiaramente sia il voltaggio residuo sia lo stato di carica con una comoda scala colorata, rendendo la lettura immediata. È perfetto per verificare se una batteria trovata in un cassetto è ancora buona o da buttare. Molto apprezzata la caratteristica che non richiede alcuna batteria interna per funzionare : si alimenta direttamente dalla pila che si sta testando. Compatto, leggero e sempre pronto all’uso: un ottimo strumento da tenere in casa o in laboratorio, preciso, pratico e affidabile.

The indicator is very clear. Sometimes it is hard to align the battery to test it, so after repeated tries a battery I thought was so dead that it didnt register on the reader actually had full charge. Thats why I knocked off one star.

Provides effective information about battery health

Excelente producto. He reemplazado a mi anterior medidor por la mejor precisión, y comodidad y posibilidades que ofrece. Aunque el precio es un poco alto. Ahora puedo verificar las pilar recargables y las normales de forma adecuada para cada tipo (las primeras son de 1.2 v y las segundas de 1.5). Pero este medidor, además del voltaje, me indica el estado de carga. Y eso es muchísimo más cómodo y eficiente. Pero además, también em sirve para las pilas de botón (que son de 3v). Y el mecanismo de sujeción de las pilas es firme y eficaz, no como otros que se mueven y es difícil medir.
