The Jug - Stainless Steel Beer Growler With Handle & Screw Top 64oz Double Wall Insulated

My husband drinks a gallon of water a day and typically drinks it right out of the big gallon plastic jugs we buy at the store. In an attempt to help him keep up with his goal water consumption as well as eliminating having to buy 7 gallon jugs of water every week, him drinking out of plastic with possible chemical contaminates, and dealing with warm water, I bought this guy. I particularly love the design with a small, effective handle and small mouth piece that can be drank from without having to use two hands and without it spilling. The top on some others is connected to the bottle in such a way that it gets in the way when you try to drink out of it so although the top is a screw top, I like it because it doesn't get in the way. My husband also appreciates the fact that it looks much cooler than his co-workers typical style water bottles and holds much more water so he doesn't have to constantly refill it during the day. This keeps water cool for hours too, that's pretty important here in Texas!

First I'd like to say I'm not as big in the craft brews, I primarily bought this as a vacuum insulated water bottle. I'm a heavy drinker of water and was really looking for something that I could keep water cold in when I go away from my home for extended periods of time. I carry water in the growler and pour it into a vacuum insulated tumbler.Pros:•The ice dispenser on my refrigerator does a pretty good job of getting iced down the neck. It would probably do better if I switched it to crushed ice though.​•The handle is very handy. Pun intended.•It keeps water cold. I'm a heavy water drinker. I fill it up at the local convenience store with a little ice and top it off with water. I want to maximize the water I have available I try to keep the ice to a minimum. I still haven't perfected this to the point I run out of water and ice at the same time. Granted the days in Kansas aren't all that hot and my car doesn't sit in the sun during the day at work but I generally have ice left at the end of the day. Sometimes the ice is gone by the next morning but the water is still cold and sometime the ice doesn't go away until I start to fill it with water again.•Lifetime warranty definitely a plus.•The lid seals very well. Don't tighten it too tight though. I cranked it down the first time I used it, I have lost a little strength in my right thumb, and had a hard time breaking the seal. Tightening it just to the point the top seal make contact, plus a LITTLE extra, provides no drips and I can open it easily.•Customer service has been fantastic. I have emailed them several times with a review and a couple questions. They get right back to me. Even when I ask questions on a weekend. Thanks Alex.Cons:•The lid is a little difficult to deal with. Its seems a little difficult to get the threads in sync. When I was reviewing various growlers I saw Stanley had a growler with a flip top with a wire bale closure. I think that is a better design for the lid.I had some other issues that kept me from going with the Stanley. Plus the reviews on this product were better.Overall I would say a great product. Flip lid, provided it seals will make it better.I have since been told they are coming out with a baled lid and I will order one as soon as they are available.I would definitely recommend this. A coworker bought one of the other 64oz bottles, a cheaper alternative to the yeti, we filled it up and when we initially turned it over it dripped a little. I put this in the back seat of my car, even if it falls over and rolls around I don't worry about it leaking a bit.

The growler's lid pops off by itself! I've had the growler for 4 days now and used it twice. The first time the growler was sitting in the fridge overnight and I woke up finding the lid off to a corner in the fridge. I thought it was a fluke. The second time happened this evening. I had it filled and then drove to my friend's house. While I was driving, the lid popped off by itself and the beer started gushing out onto my seat and floor. How could this possibly have happened? The product design/mfg is defective!

Wow! Sixty-four ounces is big. Can't wait to use it. Boy, If I drink this much water each day my doctor will not have to remind me to drink eight glasses of water. We live on a farm and it will be a great way for me to carry my water and gatorade...I will not have to put those plastic bottles in a cooler each day. After I use the Growler for a while I will see how it keeps stuff either cold or hot. I like the wide mouth which makes it easy to fill. Also, the wide mouth makes it easy to wash the inside. It does seem to be built well and I am sure it will hold up bouncing around in the truck, tractor, or other equipment. After using for a few days, it seems the Growler keeps liquids cold and/or hot. Really works well. I like it.

a little hard to clean

Originally I bought this to use as a water container when I was deployed overseas. I bought it because I needed something that kept my water cold even in 135 degree weather. It worked beyond expectation, I would fill it up with ice and then water, I wouldn't have to put ice in it again for at least 2 days. The vaccum seal was great. Then once I got home from deployment I topped it off with some adult beverages and it stayed cold all through the new guy at our backyard fire and BBQ. If your looking for a growler that says it stays cold and actually does plus gives you a nice rugged look and doesn't break, buy this.

The growler looks great. It's a nice size, holds any beverage good and I like the thermos style cap. My only gripe is the handle. It's sturdy right now but maybe in the future it may come off. It doesn't appear to be welded. Besides from that 5 stars. Cheers Ty

I purchased this Growler for my husband and he absolutely loves it!!! He likes the size and the fact that it keeps his beer ice cold for a long period of time!!!
