Placed a pair of these in our log burner during the summer months to provide a bit of decorative/ambient light. They work great and are very realistic. The battery length is pretty good - I've been using the timer setting, so they have been on for a few hours a night for several nights. The remote control works OK, but you need to be reasonably close for it to work. Overall I am very pleased with them...
