ACDelco GT261 GM Original Equipment Fuel Tank Cap

Great fit. Didn’t solve the code problem, but it needed a new cap.

This cap replaced a Motorad locking cap that I bought a few months ago. The Motorad cap was too tight in the filler neck opening, requiring IMO too much effort to remove or replace it. My vehicle is a recent purchase that I'm working through readying for it's Calif emissions test. The self-tests (I/M readiness monitors) that vehicles do after their battery is disconnected and reconnected, was failing at the last step, EVAP (with the other cap). I bought this cap because it was designed by GM for their vehicles. The cap fits the filler opening better and the EVAP monitor passed later, unfortunately exposing other problems with the vehicle that I'm now working through. I wish GM sold a locking version of this cap. On this vehicle though, the rubber hoses that connect the filler neck to the tank are plainly visible in the wheel well. So a locking cap is more about appearing to be more work for thieves anyway, than actual security. If you're having gas cap problems with your GM vehicle and this one fits it, just buy this.
