OMP (HA/781E/N TRS-E XL Racing Seat, Black

Using this seat for sim racing, it might be overkill, but I've been at this a long time and have a lot invested in this hobby. I'd been eye balling the NRG seats, but the photos just made the seats look warped and I couldn't get over the idea of seat back flex.... so rather than underpaying for disappointment, I decided to pay for overkill. This OMP seat is pretty darn comfortable, definitely not going to flex, and it looks super sweet. While I likely don't need the XL size, I bought it regardless and do not regret it one bit. I'm 5'10 and usually around 190, not an athlete at all, but not out of shape by any means. This seat gives me a little room on the sides which is nice. Also worth noting, this thing came in a huge box with tons of packaging and the entire seat was contained in bubble wrap. Mine showed up looking flawless.

Ordered once and received a seat with mounting holes misaligned by ~1 cm in height, which made it impossible to mount it stably on standard brackets. Returned it. Ordered a replacement from the same seller. The mounting holes are correct this time, but the seat itself is visibly asymmetric. When viewed from the front, it leans left-to-right from bottom to top and then back to the left at the headrest. This is clearly visible by eye and not acceptable for a new product. It is unclear whether this is an issue with the seller or with OMP manufacturing, but I am returning the seat and will purchase from a different place.

I’m 6’2” and about 290 lbs. and the TRS-E XL fit me quite comfortably. I generally wear a 42 waist and 34 inseam and have fairly large thighs. The seat was snug, but not uncomfortably so even on a hot day I imagine...maybe not so much if the car was a daily driver. I’m likely as big as the seat could hold, however. Would’ve been great for track if it fit in the narrow car. Safety harness belts would likely pass through near the top of the holes, and I’m likely as tall a driver as would safely be able to pass inspections. The top of the headrest reaches just under the top of my head or at least above the middle of a helmet. Unfortunately the shoulder bolsters were too wide at the B-pillar of my Fiat 500 Abarth to fit where I personally needed it to sit in the car. Still, it was a great seat for a good price, and I’ll likely consider it again in the future if I ever have a wider car.

This is a nice seat for the price. I bought it as a passenger seat for my track car. It looks good, and the quality is very good. It matches my more expensive OMP halo driver’s seat. It is universal so it works as a driver or passenger seat.
