Great Product definitely worth the money... Just add a couple more tools and you've got a complete set. Add a Fret leveling tool and neck gauge and you can probably get just about anything done

This kit has everything to level and dress frets. The bar is straight and the file works too but only on narrow frets. Of course it's not the best luthier tools you can buy but for the price it's well worth it. That's why I gave it 5☆.

Pros: The flat portions of the sanding block and fret rocker were flat and true. The crowning performed it's job without gashing my fretboard. I was able to do a level and crown with the tools in this kit.Cons: the edges of the fret rocker were sharp, needed to be filed smooth before I would come near your guitar with it. The crowning file is good enough for a one off job, but if I were crowning frets on a regular basis, this would be the first part of the kit I'd replace.Overall: I like the fret leveling block, fret rocker is serviceable, fret crowning file is just usable.

The mallet works as intended. It is non marring, and actually has a decent weight and balance to it. I checked that the fret rocker edges were true before use and was happy with the accuracy. The fret guards performed decently. They are a bit on the thin side and flex a bit more than I’d like. I’d also like them to be a bit longer so I’d be able to use a rubber band to hold them in place while filing. Having to hold it there gets in the way of the filing. Leveling file seemed true upon inspection, but must have flexed a bit during use resulting in some inconsistency with the leveling. Not anything to rage about but it did do decent. Crowning file leaves a lot to be desired. It’s very rough on the frets and left me needing a lot of polishing. It did however crown the frets so I can’t complain too much. I didn’t use the string stays since I worked on a new build that wasn’t strung up during the work. Overall it’s a decent kit for the price. It got the job done for a low cost. I just had to work a bit harder than I would with higher end tools. The only things I would add to complete the kit would be some fret erasers for polishing the frets. Maybe a nut file set. But that’s definitely something that is going to change the price on the kit. Ultimately, I’d say this is gonna be for your one and done type of guitar projects. If you plan on doing multiple guitars, I’d highly suggest higher quality tools if possible. These tools do function, but you’ve really got to dig in and work for it.

Leveled my frets and the level checker is a sturdy metal with 4 sides to measure different frets across. So far ive been able to level 5 of my guitars and have not replaced the sanding block yet. Killer for the price

I am NOT a luthier, but I play one in my basement and did get some training years ago. I used these tools and $10 fret removal pliers for my first refret, replacing first 3 frets on my 2004 Fender Aerodyne Strat. All the tools here worked well, got the job done, and for less than I would have spent on just the string spreaders at the big-name luthier supply.

I expected the leveling beam to thin, cheap, and unusable - boy was I wrong! All of the tools in this bundle, including the fret hammer are really sturdy and a great quality for the price. Would recommend!

Great little set!

I am doing a vintage mandolin restoration for a friend and thought I'd clean up the fretboard and frets. This kit arrived and I am very pleased although I'm still not sure what the two curved brackets are for?? The included abrasive strips will be very useful for other fixes as the grits are very fine! In all I consider this a really good buy at this price!!

A useful tool set for the person who likes to do some of their own repair and maintenance on their instruments.These are not day to day professional level tools, but will do most simple jobs well.I do recommend these tools for simple repairs and maintenance.
