MuscleTech Whey Protein Powder (Cookies and Cream, 5LB), 24g Protein

Tastes incredible. In my opinion, worth the price and one of the best out there.

Initially I tried it after having Oreo flavor from Ghost earlier in the day and was a bit disappointed. Gave it another shot in the morning and did like it. It doesn't taste like crushed Oreos but is still pretty good. It mixes just fine with water in a blender bottle without the ball. I got it 25% during sale and and completely satisfied with the protein powder. Drank 2 scoops at once, didn't upset my stomach and tasted good.

I love this protein. My favorite flavor is cookies and cream.

This is my second protein product from MuscleTech. The last product I tried was MuscleTech Nitro-Tech in Milk Chocolate. Comparatively, this product contains less protein per serving (24 vs 30g) and does not contain any creatine. The absence of creatine is helpful, especially if you already taking creatine separately. It allows you to optimize the amount of creatine that you are consuming daily. In terms of taste, I find that it does a good job of imitating a cookies and crème flavour. It does have a similar taste to drinking an Oreo McFlurry that has melted. It does not have the strong whey taste that some protein powders usually carry. There are some artificial chemical aftertastes element as well. Of course, you wouldn’t expect it to taste exactly the same as a real ice-cream desert. I also find that the thickness when mixed with water is different than regular Nitrotech. If you want a watery protein drink, then this would be suitable for you. Strangely enough, despite this, I found the mixibility worse compared to the regular Nitro Tech. This drink provides the satiety after consumption, which is nice as a snack, or after a workout giving you a hunger-buffer before you can consume a meal with real food. It seems the volume per scoop is also consistently large with this brand. In this regard, it will a) fill up youf protein shaker easier (a good or bad thing), and b) contain less servings per x/lb of a tub. Take that into consideration when calculating what you need monthly. All in all, a solid tasting protein with a more flexible profile in terms of macros.

I’ve always liked the basic flavors of Nitro Tech (chocolate, vanilla, etc.), and this is right in line with all those that came before it. Still, I was shocked that the Vanilla Swirl tasted so good, yet has only 4g of carbs (2g sugars), AND adds and other ingredients (C. canephora robusta & L-carnitine) that aid in weight loss - all while delivering 30g of protein per scoop. With that in mind, I’ve made my first attempt to do some basic label analysis (see image). There are many important ingredients you could look at, but I tried to focus on some of the basics. I’m certainly no expert, and I’m sure there are some that may find this very basic, but I hope it helps others. I plan to continue to do this on future reviews, and maybe even evolve and expand the analysis. The bottom line: If you’re trying to watch your carb intake or cut fat while also ensuring you still hit your protein intake goals, I highly recommend this.

I've been using this product for several years now. I had to make a few adaptations -- for instance, mixing it in 8 oz of water to prevent lumps -- but find it to meet my needs at a lower price than many other brands. The jug contains enough powder to give you 69 single scoop servings with 24g of protein in each. I use 1.5 scoops twice daily (36g protein), so it lasts me just over 3 weeks. Another brand I tried only had 21 double scoop servings at 27g protein, and cost more. If you're on a budget, this is a great deal.

Authentic MuscleTech protein powder as verified via the MuscleTech app. Good product. The cookies and cream flavour is quite sweet, recommend opting for a different flavor if you're not a sweet tooth.

I was really put off initially by some comments about the taste (cookies and cream)….. I am glad I took the gamble! Great taste (mixes so well in water and milk, and has a thick, creamy taste with either, not “thin” like some shakes in water!) Got 2.5kg for £30 with subscribe and save / coupon…… bargain at that price! Would I pay £40….. probably yes, as I like the taste and don’t dread my post-gym nutrition anymore! Well done muscletech!
