Memorable Psychopharmacology Paperback – June 21, 2021

This book was well written, easy to read, and informative while studying for my PMHNP boards. It is also hilarious. While I was taking boards, I would think about some of the info in the book and chuckle, like the fat little bird when going over Olanzapine or that diarrhea being a common side effect of sertraline (aka "squirtaline').The author was able to cram a lot of serious information in a fun way. There are many study guides out there full of dry information that is a chore to go over. Don't let the price fool you, this is a very good study guide and I probably learned more from reviewing this book than I did the other "purple" book.Good luck on your boards.

I'm a Family Nurse Practitioner going back to school for Psychiatric Mental Health and I'm refreshing my memory and education prior to starting school. So far I'm only into the first few chapters and this is well written with mnemonics for memorization. Definitely recommend this author.

The books by Dr. Heldt are FANTASTIC! I am just finishing my graduate program as a PMHNP student, LAST CLASS -woohoo - and these books, plus the online YouTube videos, have been a Godsend. These books have been in my hands more than any other book (except Dr S's pharm drug book) during my entire 20 months of education. Terrific mnemonics explained with great drawings, back of the book has templates of key pharm/psych MUST KNOWS and informative easy to understand information to tie all of the important aspects of psychiatry and the psychopharm together. If you are a grad student, these books, Memorable Psychopharmacology and Memorable Psychiatry, offer clear, concise, and direct information, plus, the videos will help you remember, retain, and understand what you need. BUY THEM! YOU will NOT regret it!

I am a PMHNP student and I discovered Dr. Heldt’s Memorable Psychiatry videos when first studying for exams. I loved the videos so much that I felt compelled to get the psychiatry and psychopharm books. I LOVE them. His teaching style is so effortless and clear. It’s not a replacement for the Stahl textbook (for example) , but it makes the material much more tangible and palatable. And frankly, it’s not just his way of explaining concepts - he does so in a way that conveys a passion for psychiatry. His videos and the books makes me even more excited for my future career as a clinician.

Such a good book to have if you’re in psych/mental health school it explains everything so well & includes all the important info you need to know not a whole bunch of unnecessary info like my required school books do. This book made my studying life so much easier and less stressful

This was recommended by a professor and I am so glad I purchased it. It is well laid out, easy to understand, and has a TON of helpful acronyms and mnemonics. Would highly recommend to anyone studying psychopharmacology and looking for helpful ways to remember “all the things.”
