Ive never had a flea problem with frontline, but for ticks they would attach to the dog before it died. So i switched to the seresto 8 month collar. The 1st one i used worked great no issues. The 2nd one (8months later) had the same date as the first one. I dont know if that was an issue but the collar stopped working after 5 months and we ended up with fleas. First time that we ever had fleas. So i am going back to frontline. My concerns are the date on package and where its coming from.

how soon after use, can I bathe dog with shampoo

"FRONTLINE Plus remains effective for 30 days, even if your pet swims or is bathed. After application, keep your pet from getting wet for 24 hours. If FRONTLINE Plus is to be applied after a bath, make sure your pet is completely dry before application. "I would also wait a few extra days if there are fleas in your carpet or if the dog is around bark dust because you can't reapply it if you wash it off prematurely. I try to wait until I have vacuumed the house a few times. Also, it takes a starving flea a couple of days to die. I totally understand not wanting to touch that wet spot on puppy's neck. This is a small sacrifice. Good luck! I am a firm believer in frontline.
