Got it for gf who has that hair type unpressed and wanted something that would hold "baby hair" in place in the heat and humidity of a week in Cancun/Riviera Maya area. She was very happy with the performance of this product.

This was a gel not the hold that I thought it was to be... =/, but I still liked it.

I have 4b/4c I used it for wash and go and it really locked my curls in for more than 4 days without me adding anything during those days. I ony sprayed with my macadamia oil spray. So I definitely think it will work for box braids. Hope this help and by the way I just purchased another container.
