Great reference book!!!
After studying various ways of healing I can say that is a great reference book. I believe the whole goal is to remind us that we can heal ourselves and our body is there to tell us what is going on. It's a matter of taking time to pay attention. Not everything in the book does apply because we are all different in our thinking. But a lot of the information was on the ball. When I reflect back on some of the ailments I had as child such as acne or toothaches she was on point. It made so much sense to me and when things are going on in my life I go to this book and it helps me slow down to reflect and heal more internally. It's a great starting point for anyone who is learning to take a more natural and holistic way of healing. Just a few things:1)What I've been taught over the years is that your language can dictate the creation of dis-ease. "That guy is a pain in the neck." Later in life you have serious neck pain.2)I recommend looking up New German Medicine. Ms. Bourbeau does reference Dr. Hammer in the beginning of the book. There are some great youtube videos that talks of his work and will only compliment this book.3)This is not a book of quick fixes but is very powerful if one takes the time to discern how they arrived at the dis-ease.So if your someone who is a counselor or one who wants something more holistic then buy this book. I'm grateful to Ms. Bourbeau for her years of hard work in creating this book. It's a great tool for healing.**Update. It's now 2011. I noticed a review that mentioned that this book is redundant. I think they are missing the point. I finally realized, all dis-ease is a result of you disconnecting with Source, God, Spirit (however you choose to label it). Meaning all dis-ease relates back to a fear. You can label it with anger, hurt, sadness, worry etc. Bottom line is you need to release it to heal it. It's simple. But we as a physical (and amazing) Human Race love to over complicate this life. How you choose to release the fear takes some growing and discerning on your part. This book is a tool. You are the only one that can do the work. You are the fix to your problems and challenges. No amount of explanation or theory will tell you otherwise. I personally like repetition. It's the mother of all learning, right? We live in a complex world. We label life with our enriched languages and experiences. The goal here is to truly love yourself. If we weren't such a complex race we probably wouldn't need this book. The truth of the matter is you and only you can unravel the truth that leads you back to healing, your heart, alignment and a purposeful life.Be well.

HEALING
I only realized after purchasing this book that it was actually this very book that my naturopathic doctor recommended to my husband and I about a year ago. I had forgotten all about it but stumbled upon it here on Amazon. This is a wonderful book to help start the natural healing process. You must do the work however! I highly recommend this book to anyone who has had chronic anything! It's so interesting on a more metaphysical level. The power of our thoughts can truly effect our over-all health. Most health issues are covered from hurt knees, migraines, weight problems in either direction, OCD, sneezing (yes sneezing) lol bed wetting, spitting, You name it!! This is the type of book you don't read from start to finish but even the issues I don't have I'm reading about them for those I know who DO! If you are tired of Western medicine alone this is a wonderful book to start the healing process and take back control over your own health and life. Love & Light

Outstanding and true Information
I am an Internal Medicine Physician and my journey has taken me from conventional medicine to Functional Medicine to MInd Body medicine. I had read Louise Hay, read about Hammer and various other courses that showed the effect of the mind on the body. But the one that I found most accurate of all is this book. Its amazingly correct in it's descriptions of our thought patterns that can establish illness. I myself had hypothyroidism with a TSH of 14 and using no medicines and following the principles in this book I was able to come down to a normal 3.0. This is a 'best in class' book and I would strongly recommend it.

This Book is Complete as Advertised!
For years I have used Louise Hay's book Heal Your Body in my work as a health coach. And for many years I've looked to see if it had been updated. Then a client let me know about Lise Bourbeau's book and I was ecstatic! The book has over 500 pages of information about emotional and mental causes of most diseases. It has been super helpful in my consultations.

Science of metaphysics: Body/Mind & Spirit connection to health
Lise Bourbeau has authored many books about health and healing.'Your Body's Telling You' is a manual of sorts—a tomb of laser-like wisdom rooted in the experiences of her clients.According to Bourbeau, "the science of metaphysics has resurfaced since the advent of psychoanalysis," and she is backed up by luminaries such as Wilhelm Reich, John Pierrakos, Fritz Pearls, and Louise Hay. Having said this, you will not find a dry scientific treatise for Lise makes no bones that she is deeply spiritual; she believes in a Higher Self and a cosmic infinite intelligence that operates beyond our physical form.Lise Bourbeau suggests that the ego occupies a disproportionate amount of space in our reality, which "smothers our essence." The ego or inner child masks our true 'Higher' self. The ego is not "real," we have "created it ourselves," and it is incapable of anything but a "primal instinct for survival" that gives rise to unnecessary suffering and alienation from our soul essence. So, with this in mind, what you will find is an alphabetical reference guide which explains the metaphysical significance of illness and disease. You would look up in the directory, for example, 'Adrenal Gland,' and you will read about four potential "blocks" that might be causing or contributing to the illness: Physical, Emotional, Mental, and Spiritual.I love this approach to holistic health, and if a little divergent thinking is your cup of tea, then dive in.
