Great bag and great price
2023 update -I’m still using my bag from many years ago. I now bought a bag for my wife. The compression bag design has changed. I fear I will rip it at its corners to compress it down to the same size as the other bag. We will be taking it down rim to rim in the spring and havasu falls in Sept. if all goes well this rating won’t change. No big deal but I got a gray and green color with a black bag that has no straps around the bag. So fully compressed it creates bumps on the bottom and stresses at the straps area. Maybe one day I’ll take a picture and share. It’s a decent bag and if you take care of it seems to last as well.I took it down the north rim on a 30 mile hike ranging from Bill Hall trail, Surprise valley, Tapeats Spring, Deer Creek and the Colorado. The nights on top of the Rim in March it was coldish (20 Degrees) and down in the valley it got up towards the 40s. This bag was small enough to fit into the bottom of my bag in the compartment for sleeping bags compressed with the original stuff sack. I was sweating in the valleys and hot on the top of the rim. There is a zipper on the bottom to vent which makes it nice to stick out your toes when hot. The bag seems short but actually it fits fairly well. Something worth mentioning is when you compress the "fluff" in any bag that is "ultra light" in any way you are going to get cold. So in other words if you are pressed up against one of the walls on one side that side will get cold.high quality bag, someone complimented on the bag and when I told them I got it for $60 they were impressed. All the special features of any bag are on it. the sheild up top to zip you torso into the bag and leave just your head poking up to the top is there. zips all the way up to your eyes. the hole where you face is can get as small as your mouth. The zipper pocket was large enough for my contact solution traveler bottle and case. My compression pillow stayed where it was supposed to with the help of the mummy style rip cord on top. wish there was a pocket for a pillow... also wish I could have a pocket for a air mattress to slid on to the back. One more wish I have for this guy is a better compression bag. make it a pouch on top that compresses the entire bag instead of relying on straps sewn into more straps. no big deal as I can buy one I like for less then $20. But I would have paid another $10 for a better compression sack.as for longevity I cannot say...yet. If I ever modify my rating it will be because of a compliant. If I am happy with it my rating will stay the same. its silky feel inside and outside if that matters to you.

We went over to get a fire started but with great difficulty nothing would light as everything was soaked
This bag will save your life! After a day of backpacking in 35 F we decided to call it a day and set up camp as it was beginning to get dark and COLD. I set up my 20$ Walmart tent and threw my sleeping bag inside. We went over to get a fire started but with great difficulty nothing would light as everything was soaked.Damn. I muttered. At this point its now dropping to 30 F. We quickly eat and shuffle to our tents for the night. At about 8pm its now around 25 F and cold.As i'm laying in my crappy Walmart tent with no ground pad I can feel every jagged rock stabbing into my spine. I toss and turn most of the night not able to get into a comfortable position. After about 1 hour I quickly regret not buying a ground pad, as I can basically feel all my body heat diffusing into the ground (even through the sleeping bag).At this point in curl into a ball and gently shake trying to create body heat.I poke my head out of my sleeping bad and think GOOD LORD it's cold as AF out here. As i glance to the side of my tent I can see that the condensation of my breath had frozen to the tent, creating tiny ice crystals on the walls of my tent.I quickly duck my head back into the sleeping bag and try and get some sleep.I only got a few hours.Ok so now for my review....This bag will probably not keep you warm in a 0F environment, you might survive but you will not be warm, unless you have some kind of ground pad and a cold weather tent. As for me im not going to lie I was cold even with this bag in a 25-30F night. But hear me out. I did not have any type of ground pad or a cold weather tent. If you are going to purchase this bag I would recommend buying some kind of ground pad.

One of the best backpack sleeping bags for the price
This sleeping bag is freaking awesome. It is so small for its capabilitys. I have the teton 4000 explorer bag and people complian that the sleeping bag pouch is to small for any sleeping bag. Well this is a 0 degree (survivable) fits in if you compress the bag. Talking about compression, this thing gets almost half the size when compressed. Lets go back to the 0 degree claim. Like you have seen all over the reviews "its not 0 degree" "i freezed to death at 40, horrible bag" this bag says it right on the tag "with proper equipment this bag CAN feel comfortable at 0" but none of us have that type of equipment (if you do, your probably not buying this bag) alot of what has to do with comfort is your sleeping pad. Now every pad has a R rating (just like insulation in your home) and if you have no pad, your gonna freeze at 40 because your laying on the cold hard earth (DUH). If you have a flimsy air pad with no r rating, you might get away with a comfortable 30 degree sleep. If you have a thick insulated pad, your wearing a base layer with wool socks and have a good 4 season tent, you could probably feel good at 5 or 10. Dont rely on the sleeping bag for warmth. You are the one creating heat, and trust me, it wants to escape anyway it can. What im trying to get at is that this sleeping bag is BOSS for 70 bucks and has all the fancy feachers of my friends $170 bag and its way smaller and lighter. Its everything you want is a 3 season bag and maybe some winter days. ill be backpacking in the rockies so this will not cut it for me, but hey thats why i only spent 70 dollars. I hope this was helpful to you and your sleeping bag decision.
